“The location is great. Pool is small, but I spent most of my time at the beach. Every morning one of the employees would bring the beach chairs and umbrellas out for me, and set them up where ever I wanted. Anything to drink for free from 5-6. Beautiful view and bar from rooftop. Room was small, but decent. Very clean. Staff was EXCELLENT!”

“Hotel was excellent, had a south beach feel, would not recommend for children as it was more of a adult hotel, the complimentary cocktail hour was excellent, as well as the complimentary breakfast. Located right on San Juan Beach in Isla Verde.”

“Rooms are tiny, bed and TV and nothing else. Felts almost like a closet. No running water when we arrived at hotel. This was the most awful experience I've ever had while traveling.”

“This hotel is the only boutique hotel in the area, we were told, meaning that you don't get the amenities as you would in larger hotels. At nights it is loud due to the club on top of the hotel, and the pool the next day is filled with cigarette butts and cups as we saw. We do like to have a good time, but we value our rest as well, location was wonderful, and restaurants were close.”

“The Water Club had great service, the staff was welcoming and accommodating. The recent remodeling is very nice on the surface (especially in the common areas.). Once we got into our room and really looked around we noticed that it was done a little bit sloppy and cheaply. I would stay here again, the location by the beach is great. There really isn't much food or entertainment wise (besides fast-food American style restaurants) in a nicely walk able distance though, which was a disappointment.”

“Do not deliberately antagonize guests and potential guests. The San Juan, Water and Beach Club, a boutique hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico attacks this rule. Big time! I climbed the crumbling steps up to the small lobby and discovered problem number one: In an effort to be, I suppose, the public areas are lit in a strange blue hue. It does look cool, I admit, but you soon realize you can't see a thing, especially if you've just come out of the bright tropical sunshine. I groped my way to an elevator and stumbled on the miss-aligned entryway. My friend has tripped on that twice, a fellow passenger told me. To this point, I admit, my complaints are rather trivial. Here is how General Manager really puts it to his guests: Noise. I'm talking chest-thumping, window-rattling, concrete-vibrating noise. As many as four nights a week, DJ sets up a frightening battery of tweeters, woofers and sub-woofers and fires off barrage after barrage of ear-splitting racket in the outdoor, rooftop disco. This could be fun if you want to party until well past 2 a.m. each night. Trust me, if you're over thirty, you're going to want to take out DJ, GM and anyone else associated with this amateurish excuse for a hotel. I tried calling the night manager one morning after 2 a.m. to run up a white flag of surrender, but no one would speak to me. Call back tomorrow, desk clerk instructed. A resort condo a few blocks away is organizing legal action to put a lid on this rude neighbor, a place that is giving Puerto Rico tourism a black eye. Water Club, take the racket inside, tone it down and, grow up!”

“Style over substance. Room was nice enough - could have been re-painted. It wasn't very cozy, more sleek and cold. The lounge beds in the rooftop bar area need to be reupholstered; they were all ripped. Location is excellent, and lounge chairs and towels are provided for the beach. I wish there had been a public area, besides, the rooftop bar, to sit out and enjoy the atmosphere. Staff was not overly friendly. I liked the h2O products in the bathroom. All in all, it was a nice enough boutique hotel, but I'd probably stay elsewhere should I return to Isla Verde.”

“The hotel is beautiful and very well decorated, however it is a boutique hotel, meaning on the small side, but in this case size doesn't matter as the location clearly makes up for that. The business office was only a computer, no phone, or instructions on how to use the system so I effectively could not sign on. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The club on the roof is awesome and the view and clientele was a blast, however, when it comes to trying to sleep for your next day's business, it was a challenge because the music was so loud until 1am. The loud music so late at night is the only negative. Everything else is an A+.”

“This is a very chic hotel right by the beach. Superb decoration the bar at the roof top level can be very romantic, the rooms even though small are well decorated and very functional. Extremely friendly staff.”

“Overall, great value beach hotel in San Juan. Other than no shower curtain and scratchy bed linens, the hotel met our expectations. We loved the decor and the beach.”

“This property is an excellent choice with a wonderful theme setting of water cascading down the walls. It¿s very airy and bright with its decor and is truly an awesome place for a romantic vacation. Less so for the practical business traveler with the internet connection at a dated 10 mobs speed. But of course its main clientele are not business travelers as I was. The food was excellent and the staff is exceedingly friendly. Surely you will make your partner very happy if you stay at this wonderful property which is nicely tucked away on the beach in this popular area of Puerto recoils a short distance from many other upscale restaurants or the more regular eateries. In sum, this is a truly great barging if it¿s available.”

“The service was rude and lazy. The sheets were stained (I am not kidding). The blankets had multiple tears in them. The hotel was run down and badly in need of restoration. This hotel is a scam. Entirely smoke and mirrors. This hotel gives the impression it will be a top shelf experience on the web but upon scratching the surface, you'll see it is trying to get as much money as possible based on its overblown location. Towels and beach chairs were missing twice when I went to the beach. The waiters in the overpriced restaurant ignored you or treated you like you were bothering them. The rooms simply weren't cleaned properly. For two people in a room, they provided one robe even after I called and complained over and over. The room I was supposed to get was not available when I got there and I was given a lesser room (view of the parking lot) and they didn't adjust the price. I mentioned it twice, they said they would adjust it, then I did auto check-out and saw they still billed me at the more expensive rate. When I brought all of these things to the management¿s attention, they did nothing at all. They didn't even really accept responsibility. They offered a small discount and then never gave it to me. I fought over the bill with them for weeks afterward. They never gave in. I approached the management company of the hotel - they sent me back to the manager of the water club. It was like a bad dream. For a hotel that charges as much as the Ritz, the experience doesn't even come close. Just stay at the Ritz - the service is great; it's right on the beach (rather than crossing the road filled with bums to get to the beach) and has a great pool (unlike the wick¿s crappy and tiny pool). The water club ruined my vacation; don't let the same thing happen to you.”

“This great hotel is located right at the beach. Elevators have a water fall in the back wall! Rooms have these white vaporous curtains with indirect blue light that produces a great ambient in the room. Stay at the hotel, eat somewhere else.”
