• Very basic - the corridoor reminded me of a set from prisoner cell block H

• Enjoyed the layout of the room
• Room needed touch-ups with decoration work

“We struggled to locate the car-park. We eventually located the car park to find that we had driven by on several occasions. The signs to the entrance were very small, perhaps this could be improved as travelling at night the signs where easily missed.”

• the friendly service from those that worked there, e.g. reception and bar supervisor
• the room was old and the cost of the room was more expensive than the four star hotel i stayed in recently in the centre of rome.

“The image of the hotel in question did not seem life like. It was difficult to locate and it was a very old building. The service was good and it was central, which was very useful. The room was clean, however the facilities were very old.”

• Comfortable, well-appointed room. Friendly staff. Convenient car park.

• Breakfast fine. Shower very good
• Very grotty room and very tired decor. No cleaning around, behind furniture for many months.

“How to find the car park from the front entrance!
Very convenient location for my purpose of visit however so I would stay again for this reason alone.”

• Location was good
• The hotel is dirty, poorly maintained, expensive for offering, understaffed.

“The sheets had holes in them, the bed was tilted, the hotel in general was poorly maintained, the entrance buzzer did not work. Overall, this is a hovel that is a last resort, and that was what I had to choose from. The staff are dispirited, probably due to the dissatsfied customers and lack of staff, 1 person serving and answering the phone does not leave a good impression.”

• The staff were pleasant
• Could do with a refurbishment. Decoration tatty.

“I was very disappointed with the general appearance of this hotel, the decoration was old fashioned, skirtings were chipped and wallpaper peeling slightly. The colour scheme wasn't very inviting and paint was chipped off doors etc. The website said that it was 3* and showed pictures of a bright room that I can not imagine being in that particular hotel!!!! I would not reccommend this hotel.”

• Friendly staff, on call 24hrs. clean,comfortable, spacious room. Central location
• Foyer and lifts a bit shabby. Not much life or entertainment in bar.

“Friendly staff. Good availability of information on local events, sites, etc., Reasonable rates. Good room service.

The only problem was when I tried to book a room here later during the week it was booked up and I had to go elsewhere!

Would definitely recommend this hotel to others”

• Clean and did not smell of tobacco. Good view of Sheffield.
• The hot water was luke-warm - too cold to take a bath. No milk for the tea. Could not check in before 2pm.
