  • The pool and location to the ocean was nice. Staff was nice.
  • Outdated decor in rooms, floors were dirty, mattress was on a cement slab.

“Hotel is in a good location with shops and food places close. Outside of hotel was attractive, and pool and ocean view was nice. Rooms still had metal keys, which is unsafe since keys could be copied. Decor of room was outdated, mattresses were on cement, and floors were very dirty.”

“Stayed at the Costa de Oro from the 20th to 29th February. Stayed in a 1bedroom ocean view. Rooms were really nice. 2 double beds, living room/dining room, two sofas that can be made into beds, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, fully stocked kitchen. Beds were really hard and pillows even harder so I would bring your own. Staff were not the friendliest I have encountered. Usually by the time we leave we are on a first name basis with waiters, lobby personnel, bartenders. The only one who got to know us was our maid Isabella. She was great. They have lots of things to do, bingo, ceramic painting, cooking lessons, manicure station, spa (massage was for $30/hour), little store with snacks, pop, beer, etc. They also have a pretty costly jewelry store. Pool and beach are great. They do not have lounges and palapas on the beach though so the only place to sunbath is around the pool which is nice also because there is an area where you can watch the activities on the beach and the ocean. It is right in the middle of the Golden Zone so lots of places to go to eat, shop, etc. We did really enjoy ourselves so would go back there again.”

“I have stayed at this hotel twice now, 02/05/2007 - 02/12/2007 was the most recent, and then also 3 years ago. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is adequate. The rooms are average, but the exterior area around the hotel is wonderful. It is beautiful and I highly recommend this to others!”

  • Great pool, great garden area, and a store in the hotel.
  • The beds not good. I felt like I was sleeping on a metal box spring.

“The pictures of the room for a upgrade were not pictures of the room we got. The hotel was under construction also. Our maid Yolanda was wonderful, Santos at the pool/bar was great. The hotel told this couple that it was okay to have a dog during the day/ but kenneled at night across the street. But during the day they gave her problems about having him etc this is not a pet friendly hotel. They miss led this couple but took there money for a room it was okay then but not later on in the day.”
