“The hotel staff was very courteous and friendly, the room was very clean, nice bed and very quiet. The location was close to everything. I must say, if in need to stay at the Diamond Palace again, I'll do it.”

“Average for a "cheap" hotel in San Juan. Desk staff needs PR training, hotel could use some TLC. Good location. Just wanted someplace cheap since we came down the day before leaving on a cruise. It fit the bill, would stay there again, but not if it was for an extended period.”

“This hotel should be called Diamond Dump because it does not even come close to a palace. First off, the hotel looks old and rundown. The rooms at Motel 6 are 5 star compared to this dumps rooms. The carpets are old and dingy, the curtains are like shower curtains, still do not know what kind of fabric that was. There was no remote in the room and the TV did not work. When we asked to use the remote, the front desk did not have any. The walls had cracks in them. The comforter was probably still from the seventies. The lobby is the only part I would say looked OK but I'm sure they put all their money into the front lobby to make it "look approachable". Once we were ready to check out a guy at the front desk requested we each give him $57 for some kind of tax that he could not explain or show proof of. We called the travel agency we booked the trip through and they said that extra charge is not a part of the deal, so we just basically had to freeze our accounts in order for him not to charge this mysterious extra amount of money. To sum it all up, you get what you pay for. I would recommends paying a little more and staying at the Marriott down the street. The rooms and customer service there are amazing. You get star treatment there. If you still want to stay at a less expensive place that is close to the beach stay at the "At Wind Chimes Inn", it is not the Marriott but it is 20 times better than this diamond dump. ”

“We stayed there for one night and that was enough. The room was dark and dinghy, although it was clean. The carpet needed to be shampooed. The hotel seems run down. The benefits are that it is close to the beach (1 block) and there are some good restaurants in the area. The casino was pretty good would not stay there on vacation, it was okay as a stop over.”

“The location was ideal; however, the hotel was infested with rodents, mildew, funky carpets, leaking A/C unit and maintenance problems. You also need to verify the room category purchased. We were accommodated in a small room with a full size bed after paying for a king option. After complaining, we were moved to another room with a king size bed but the same problems persisted. The hotel needs ample refurbishment.”
