• Staff was friendly but very disappointed with room
• Loud A/C could not sleep during our 2 night stay. Damp carpets in room.

• The maintenance staff and cleaning staff were friendly.
• Front desk staff reminded me of dealing with Attila the Hun.

“Our initial meeting with the front desk employee at around 8:00 PM was confrontational at best. She was extremely rude, and short in demeanor. The original room had an ocean view (21st. floor) and then we were moved to another room (facing the mountains) on the second night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• It provided all that I needed at a price that was affordable.
• Could have provided another waste paper basket.

“Close to the beach, to many affordable restaurants and the washers/dryers came in very handy. All in all a very positive experience and I will be going back.”

• Cheap, nice rooms, good location, helpful friendly staff.
• No bar and restaurant and breakfast facilities.

“I would highly recommend this hotel to budget concious travelers. Go to an expensive hotel. One block to the beach, almost in the center of town, right on the bus route to anywhere, nice rooms, what more do you need. I would come back here anytime!”

• It was about 3 blocks from the beach.
• You always felt like a prisoner in paradise. You just wanted to stay away from the hotel.

“Besides the conveniently located hookers outside the hotel there's not much to make your Hawaiian vacation memorable. Let's see, there was a lot of wear and tear in the hotel, they ran out of light bulbs and the manager said how he could possibly keep enough light bulbs for a hotel this size, there were 2 roaches, the staff was barefooted, and the beds were more like a child's bed. Parking is bad too. The parking permit only gives you the right to fight for a parking space.”

• The location to the beach is excellent.
• The rooms are extremely small and the parking is Narrow and over booked.

“When I arrived the attendant was sleeping in the back room. After getting her attention she gave me the keys to 2 rooms of which 1 room was already occupied. When she copied my identification and credit card she kept them. When I asked for them back she said I already had them. I told her to check the copy machine and sure enough there they were. The 1 room was so small that the door could not even be opened all the way. I had 2 rooms which are graded to hold 4 people. Neither room was big enough for more than 2 people. The parking rate is /day however this does guarantee you a parking spot. The hotel over books the parking. If you do not get to park in a stall the security will tell you were to park and they will call you in the morning to move your car if needed. The 6 story parking ramp is so Narrow that if someone is coming down, you will have to back down the winding ramp letting the other driver out of the garage. The amount charged is far too much for the incontinences anyone will face staying at this hotel. I will never stay at this hotel again.”

• I loved this hotel, it was perfect for my needs.

“The hotels staff was very friendly. The parking was very confined, but also very convenient. The location was awesome, it was within walking distance of Waikiki and the famous shopping strip. The room was great also. The microwave and fridge were a great addition to the room, the TV was nice, and the bed was mediocre. The staff cleaned and supplied clean towels everyday. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Aqua Continental.”

• Elevators need to be remodeled.

“Room small but has refrigerator, microwave, bath with tub, closet and safe. Views of ocean and Diamond Head. Staff friendly. Parking $15 and wireless internet available in lobby.”

• The view is fantastic!!! I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the view overlooking Waikiki
• The staff wasn't the best. They actually hung up on me when I first called.

“This hotel is amazing! Waking up every morning to Waikiki beach and ocean surf from one view and downtown from the other window. The beds were comfortable, the TV had like 80 channels, it was quiet and spacious.”

“Overall we found the hotel to be acceptable. The rooms were very small, but they did have a micro and mini fridge in each one, (we had two rooms). Only bed choices are one double or two twins. (As a big man, it made me feel even bigger.) Staff was accommodating and friendly. On-site parking is a very tight squeeze, (I'm glad we did not rent an SUV, I don't think it would have fit...) Clean hotel, but not exactly "nice." No pool makes this a less desirable accommodation.”

“We were extremely disappointed in this hotel! The ceiling was falling down, the bathtub was dangerously slippery, ants were crawling all over and we had to constantly ask for toilet tissue as they never left any.”

“The location was fabulous..very close to the central beach area. The rooms were tiny but acceptable, but the lobby was very ratty looking with throws over old furniture, dark, and uninviting. The elevators had old wall paper peeling off the walls and the whole place reeked of a deodorizer known as NIL ORDER.”
