• Beautiful hotel in prime location. Great for families.
• Not one thing.

“This hotel surpassed our expectations. The location and amenities were excellent. The rooms were decorated with beautiful furnishings and were equipped with every amenity needed. I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.”

• The hotel was in a good location and the grounds were absolutely beautiful.
• There wasn't anything not to like about this hotel.

• Amazing location! The views were outstanding. Very clean. Superb swimming pools!
• We loved everything about this hotel.

“This hotel was amazing. At check-in in fact, they said they had gone ahead and upgraded our room to a king size ocean view room! It was incredible! The facilities, grounds and location of this resort exceeded every expectation we had. This would be a great hotel for both families and couples.”

• Clean, friendly staff except the restaurant.
• Horrible restaurant dining experience. We left before it was finished.

“Long check in time due to someone calling in sick. Asked for an upgrade to the room and was told they did not have openings. From the lights that were on in the evening, they were not even 1/4 full. Friendly, helpful staff. Dining was overpriced, bland and so slow we left before dessert was delivered. Upon check out, they waived the dining bill. You will need to go to Kona for reasonably priced food.”

• The room was incredible and the pool was enjoyable. The staff was also very pleasant.
• Room service was very slow.

“This hotel has one of the best beaches in the big island Hawaii. I loved the location and there are a lot of things to do even if you're limited to just the hotel and its surrounding areas. The food is ok, but like a lot of places/restaurants in Hawaii, it's expensive.”

• The hotel room was very clean and exceptionally welcoming and the room service was efficient and accommodating.
• They need more parking.

“My stay was wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and the room decor was so inviting. It was a great place to relax and in walking distance of all sorts of shops and restaurants. The brunch buffet was delicious. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• There are very few hotels on the Big Island on sandy beaches, this is one of them!
• The resort charges a mandatory $20 resort fee, it covered parking, internet, 1/2 day snorkel gear but I wish we knew up front.

“Great sandy beach location. Perfect for families or couples with a nice pool, beach and fitness room. The downsides are the resort fee, restaurant and beachside activity prices.”

• Quiet with good view.
• The facility was small and with little activities.

“1. Hotel room was nice and comfortable with decent view except the duvet cover has a blood stain which was gross. When I first complaint about it they send a fresh duvet cover but expecting the customer to change duvet cover. By the time they have someone the change it, it was the third morning and after I complaint to the front desk again.2. We were not aware nor notified the charge upon the check in. In the package which includes the parking, two cocktails etc., but we only handed the two cocktail when we first check in.”

• Lack of restaurant choices, service at restaurant needs improvement. The resort fee of $20 is a waste.

“We absolutely loved the location, decor, size, facilities and grounds of this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. The mattresses were incredible. We liked that the pool area was open 24/7.”

• Excellent location, close to the shop, access to swimmable beach.

“Excellent location, close to everything. Own swimmable beach. Small, but very clean room. Excellent housekeeping service. To be a 4 star hotel they need to improve bathrooms. Too small and looks little bit old. Couple days before arrival we called hotel and ask for parking fees. We were told that parking charge will be $7.00 per day. When we arrive front desk informed us that we have to pay fee of 20.00 per day which include parking and other services (local calls, internet etc.) which we do not need. We asked front desk manager and she explained that it is resort fees and everybody pays it. Do not know if this is true, but we accepted her explanation. Other than that everything was excellent.”

• My room had roaches.

“Excellent hotel. A bit expensive in the restaurants. Situated 20 miles north of Kona, so to get to and from town took some time. Close to shops in the area, but they were very upscale and expensive. Pool area was exceptional.”

“Open common areas were beautiful and the room was very nicely done although a tad small for a family of four. Our room was a great value as it was listed as a garden view but from our lanai we could see the ocean, the pool area, and even some of the luau performance. The pool area was just the right size for keeping track of the kids and I like how they incorporated the historical trails around the property. The only negative was the high cost of food at the hotel. Luckily, this hotel/resort is within walking distance to other food choices in Kings' Shops and Queens' Marketplace. Overall, if you want to stay in the Kohala resort area, this is a great choice.”

• Loved the swimming pools and access to beach.
• The $20 per day resort fee, wasn't expecting that.

“This is an excellent 4 star resort in Waikoloa, would highly recommended. Updated rooms, nicely decorated, excellent service. Landscaping and pools were beautiful. Family friendly. Hope to return someday. Location to shops and beach can't be beat in this area.”
