  • Loved the grounds and view.
  • Mediocre food, too many additional fees, rude staff.

“Beautiful grounds, room was but average but bed was excellent. I had ants and the occasional cockroach, could have done without those guests. The food was over-priced and mediocre, I would recommend the new Gourmet ABC store at the Waikoloa village. I would also rather pay a higher price to have services included than be exposed to multiple fees. My trip over-all was pleasant but I would not recommend this place for people looking for an affordable peaceful get-away.”

  • Beautiful views and very clean during my stay.
  • Too large, not good for business.

“As an event planner I brought in a large conference to this facility - what a mistake! The venue is much to large logistically. When you require a tram/boat to get from one side of a hotel to the other, there's an issue. Only met a few staff that were friendly, most were annoyed to be bothered. There's no sandy beach found at this resort either (except the man made one, inside the resort), you have to walk down into town, or drive to an out lying beach, for a real Ocean experience. The hotel charges handsomely for their view. Rates for the coffee in your room (but there is no sign to tell you this), internet $6/hr, parking $16/day (self park, then walk a mile to the hotel) non motorized water activities (in the lagoon) $30/hr. And if you are planning an event, they will charge you right down to the extension cord required to run their equipment (that you are also renting). I will say the views are amazing, in the right season you are surrounded by whales off the shores. And I saw workers scrubbing the grout on the walk-ways, on their hands and knees, shampooing carpets nightly, and polishing/disinfecting the hand-rails. There are better places to go with families, that are logistically more pleasing, and better places to go if you are on a romantic vacation.”

“The Hilton Waikoloa village is a fabulous resort, perfect for families with youngsters. The hotel amenities and staff and location made our vacation on of the best.”

  • The beautiful grounds, the art, the activities.
  • Expensive internet connection, was not informed of all activities and opportunities.

“This is a gorgeous hotel that is more of an experience than a location. From the moment we stepped on the boat that takes guests to their accommodations, I felt that I was in an adult Disneyland. The pools with waterfalls are beautiful, the landscaping is gorgeous, and there are many available activities for adults and families.”

  • Staff, location, Hawaii!
  • They do try to oversell vacation (Time-Share) clubs.

  • Ability to check in early.
  • Too spread out. Valet parking charges are too high.

“Good hotel, things are too far away from rooms, such as valet, pool and stores.”

  • The community, the hotel is located in is world class.
  • The spa left something to be desired.

“A beautiful place and setting with a lot of great touches. In its prime this hotel was one of the worlds best I'm sure. We used the spa and were not that satisfied however the rest of the hotel was impressive. A great romantic getaway for the Kona side of the Island.”

  • The pools, public areas were beautiful.
  • No swimable beach, very hard to get around as trams boats are slow.

“Amazing, grounds are beautiful and so much to look at and do. Restaurants are very expensive and hard to feed the family without spending a fortune, very large and gorgeous, but parking is a long way from rooms, boats and trams are slow, but fun. Definitely the Disneyland of Hawaii! Wonderful for families with small children who don't eat much and just want to play in pools.”

  • Great staff, impressive grounds.
  • Some features in room where not up to part. Not an intimate resort.

“Overall for families this is the Disney World of Hawaiian resorts, with its lagoon, day camp, multiple pools and slides - but for honeymooners - the resort is too huge to have any intimacy for couples. If you don't take the boat or monorail to your hotel tower, it felt as though you are walking for miles to get anywhere.”

  • Excellent price for the hotel.
  • The hotel charges everything individually including a single pack of coffee for $3.95. Most hotels give this for free or included in the fee.

“The hotel is large and has a tram or boat to take you different part of the resort. It's good for young children but the restaurants are expensive.”

  • This is a first class experience at the price.
  • The breakfast buffet is very pricy for what is served.

“The hotel grounds are expansive with a wonderful collection of Hawaiian and Asian art nestled in meticulously manicured gardens of over 20 acres. The monorail and water gondola, inter hotel transportation make this a magical experience. The hotels lagoon is home to sea turtles, eels and tropical fish for all the guests to enjoy snorkeling with.”

  • Beautiful grounds and abundance of swimming pools.
  • $19 parking fee per day.

“Lovely location and beautiful grounds! A very enjoyable vacation. It was great experience to take either boat or tram to get around the 64 acres of property. Watching the dolphins was great fun, but probably would not recommend it. We stayed in Oceans tower, but would recommend the Lagoon tower if you want to be more centralized to best pools/restaurants and the dolphins!”

  • Wonderful atmosphere, very relaxing, everything you could wish for in a resort.
  • Be ready to walk or wait for the tram or boat, not very many in working order while on trip.

“This was the best resort which I have stayed in many years. Well worth the money and wished I would have planned for a longer stay. Will repeat this trip to the same resort again and will tell everyone about our wonderful stay.”

  • This is a very fun destination for kids and nice escape for adults, too.
  • The floors in our room were not clean.

“My husband, 10 month old daughter and I had a wonderful 3-day weekend at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The room was a very nice size and had a balcony with an excellent view of the pool area and a peek of the ocean. The pools were wonderful, the grounds were spectacular and the cocktails were delish! Most rooms are a long way from the parking lot, but for guests (like us) that are just looking to relax on-site without daily sightseeing trips, this place can't be beat.”

  • Beautiful resort - lovely grounds.
  • Too big - waiting 20 min for tram or walking 1 mile every time to get from room to lobby is too much!

“Beautiful resort - but very much like Disneyland. Tram and boat rides to get around are a bit much - grounds are almost too big. Loved dolphins, animals, beautiful views, convenient location. Wish this hotel had its own beach but A-Bay beach just a short drive away. I'd go back.”

  • The size, cleanliness and location.
  • The birds inside the restaurants.

“Beautiful oceanfront location with much to see. The grounds are covered with pathways to lead you through lush plant life, well placed and beautiful statuary, and accessible water features. The rooms seem spacious with enough amenities to provide a comfortable base for rest and refreshment.”
