  • Wonderful family hotel and grounds were terrific.
  • Thought that the room was not up to par.

“Everything was wonderful, and the room fell way under our expectations.”

  • It had great swimming attractions. The rooms were very clean and it had a fridge in the room.
  • The food was way too expensive. I dont mind paying over but being robbed is another thing.

“This hotel was great fun for the kids. They had a boat that went around the compound. They also had a train three super pools with slides. The food was very good but pricey. The views of the ocean were breath taking. I would love to go back.”

“Beautiful resort with many amenities.”

  • Beautiful setting, breath taking landscaping, stunning artifacts and decor.
  • Meals were not unfordable for a family, kitchenettes or family friendly restaurants would be good.

“The Hilton at Waikoloa is an amazing resort to visit short term. Set on the rugged north west coast of the big island of Hawaii it offers the most breath taking natural and landscaped setting. The rooms are small but comfortable. Rooms with kitchens or kitchenettes would be an asset as the on-site restaurants are far too expensive for average guests and families.”

“Excellent place to stay with kids or for a couple on a romance trip. Very close to one of the best beached in Big Island of Hawaii.”

  • View.
  • Service. Complete lack of consideration of the staff.

“Do not stay if you are accustomed to decent service. I injured myself while at the hotel and the staff did nothing to help or make our stay more comfortable. The food is terribly overpriced - even for a supposedly 5 star resort. I have had better meals at fast food restaurants.”

  • Grounds and services were spectacular.
  • Needed more breakfast options.

“This Hilton is spectacularly situated on expansive grounds. It is so well maintained - with art and plants and beautiful landscaping - that it is a wonder that it makes a profit. The staff was friendly and helpful and our stay in a lagoon room overlooking the dolphins was the icing on the cake.”

  • Gorgeous appearance.
  • No where to buy cheap foods.

“This hotel has a Disneyland feel. Fun, colorful, beautiful scenery, but food choices were limited, and gym cost extra, and not allow in women's locker room without paying $30.00”

“Waikoloa is the sun spot of the island, I would love to own property here but if I can't the Hilton is a great backup.”

  • There is more to do on the hotel grounds than any other hotel/resort Ive stayed with.

“This hotel is a tropical wonderland. Our room was extremely clean and well furnished. The pricing in Hawaii is already high, but the hotel was really high. $7 or more bar beverages, and restaurant pricing was sky high. We ate off site most meals. We did the Luau, great entertainment. However they take your photo and offer you 5 copies for an additional $40. The hotel did not miss any opportunities to charge extra.”

  • The hotel makes a great use of space. They can accommodate an enormous group of people, but you never feel crowded.
  • The hotel was great. The only thing was you sometimes had to wait a little bit for the tram.

“The hotel met and exceeded my expectations. It's like a tropical oasis in the lava "desert".”

  • The experience. Hotel staff was friendly. The artwork is exceptional. The boats and tram are an added bonus.
  • Tiny ants on the bathroom vanity.

“Excellent four star property with much to do on property, yet centrally located to get to many other attractions, shopping and dining. The mile of artwork provides a soothing visual each time you walk the property. The pool areas are spread out so you don't feel like you are on top of other guests.”

  • Location, facilities.
  • Loud construction made pool unpleasant; room needs microwave.

“Lovely setting; huge so lots of great facilities but takes time to get around; would be nicer if they heated the pools a bit; overall I would recommend to most people.”

  • Too big. Had to walk 20 minutes to get to lobby.

“Clean rooms. I don't mind walking-I live in a city, but to talk 20 minutes to get out of this hotel is ridiculous.”

  • Stream throughout the facility. Easy access to everything by the boat.
  • The dolphin pool needs to be bigger. The people pool is larger than the dolphin pool!

“This is a very beautiful hotel. Parking is very close and the view is beautiful from the Lagoon Towers. We'll be going back here.”
