“With the name Ramada, I expected the hotel to be clean, fairly recently decorated and painted. It appeared to me to have last been redone about 30 years ago. The breakfast buffet was good. The other food was poor at best.”

“This hotel met our expecations for what we had been promised. The room had everything they had stated we would and was very clean. The beds were very comfortable.”

• Location.
• It is old, the bathroom tiles were filthy and the door locks at the end of the hall were broken.

“This is an old hotel with very little management upgrades made through the years. The bathrooms need a lot of work, the water doesn't drain from the tub during showers, and tiles are dirty. This is what I would consider a fishing hotel, a place to stay on a fishing trip when cleanliness isn't an issue. There was also an attempted robbery or break-in during our stay - just to add excitement!

• Hairdryer, refrigerator, good ice machine.
• I could hear an ant walk by the room. Lousy beds and pillows, decorated in 1970.

“The room decor and mattresses were straight out of the 1970's and I believe that the pillows have been in this room since then. I could hear every move that anyone made on any floor of this hotel, and was afraid to even sneeze myself for fear of being heard. It was the poorest nights rest that I have ever had in a hotel. The rooms did have a small refrigerator and microwave, so that was the only plus that I gathered.”

• The hotel room itself was nicely equipped and generally appropriate for the provided star rating.
• Room we checked into had no water in toilet basin had to change rooms, dirty common facilities.

“I expected higher quality room, facilities, restaurants and staff. The hotel has potential to be great but it appears many aspects have simply fallen into disrepair and are not regularly maintained for general cleanliness in the common areas.”

• Quick check in.
• Dirty, noisy, stinky, uncomfortable beds, sheets, and pillows.

“This was a horrible place to stay. I'd rather have slept in my car. The bathroom was dingy--dirty grout, peeling paint, stained walls. The beds were hard, lumpy, and the sheets were thin and rough. The pillows were stinky and too firm/lumpy. The room smelled like smoke because someone was smoking in the hall. (Smell lingered all night.) The carpet looked like it had not been cleaned in ages and there were crumbs, hair, food pieces, and dust under the bed and other furniture and in the corners. The window was cracked and filthy. Our view (what little I actually could see out the dirty window) was of a parking lot and messy garbage area. The air conditioner was musty / moldy. Need I say more?”

• The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
• It is old and in need of renovation/remodeling.

“While the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms had a few problems. The knob on the heater was broken, the show head was broke, the elevator was dirty and the gym equipment was in need of repair. However, for casual travel, the room was clean and the location was great. If not for the great staff, I would be hesitant to recommend this hotel.”

• Close to university of Kentucky.
• The first room smelled with wet carpet. The second only had full beds, very uncomfortable, not updated.

“Very unpleasant, room smelled and the carpet was wet. Old furniture, uncomfortable bed. I would never have chosen this hotel on mine own.”

• Nice courtyard area, desk personnel friendly.
• Had brown paper covering window, so no natural light. Room smelled funny like mold.

“Would not return, too much money for a room that smelled like mold and no natural lighting.”

• American owned and operated.
• Breakfast buffet was not hot and not much choice.

“Overall it was a good experience. Room size was good. Well lit parking area. Clean halls and rooms. Would visit again. American owned and operated.”

• Spacious rooms.
• Bed linens were not clean.

“While the rooms were spacious and the staff friendly, the cleanliness of the rooms left something to be desired. I found a used tissue as well as hair in my bed linens which led me to believe the linens had not been changed since the last visitor. Totally unacceptable!”

• A little outdated, but served the purpose.

“Although this hotel was a bit outdated, the staff was friendly and helpful, the pool area huge, and the rooms comfortable. We would stay again :).”

• For an older hotel it is in excellent condition.
• Construction work should be curtained off.

• The front desk staff was nice.
• It was old, dirty; food was bad, no elevator, and holes in bedding.

“We were very disappointed this hotel experience did not start our vacation very nice. It was so old in every way even the Ramada sign was falling apart. There were someone else's hair on the bathroom floors, holes in the bedding and furniture and some sort of go in the bottom of the glasses left in the room for you to drink out of. The free breakfast had variety but the food was rotten, runny or warm (when it was to be cold) and cold (when it was to be warm). Take this hotel out of your database!”
