• Excellent location, great price.
• Staff did not speak English well.

“The price was excellent, had trouble communicating with the staff, also family could not reach me at the hotel because they did not understand English when they called. Other than that I loved the hotel, very clean, great location, nice room and taxis were outside. I would recommend it, absolutely.”

• Close to everything!!.
• No Peking Duck, but on menu.

“I would stay there in a Heartbeat. Great hairdressing salon on block and classy great massage end of block. Awesome. Every time I called for something (ice, more coffee, etc., they were there with it in minutes. Great service! Internet available in lobby and 4$ for half hour. Very good.”

• The room was falling apart, electrical outlets didn't work.

“The hotel was nice enough, but some things in the room were falling apart. The chair was not very steady; the electrical outlets were not working and were coming out of the walls. The location was great! The mall there adjacent to hotel was awesome, lots of shopping.”

• Smoke filled, dark lobby, very dirty carpet, dark, dirty, small bathroom with mold on tile.

• It was located near the subway station which I used frequently.
• I was expecting a 4 star hotel which this definitely was not.

“This hotel advertises itself as a four star, however, it would not even meet a 2 star rating in most places. The rooms are dated, very shabby, and completely in need of attention and repair. It is overrun with tour buses and families, and the western breakfast reflects the "mass" appeal of quick non-personalized service. A poor choice for your money.”

• Service seemed uncoordinated.

“Three of us stayed in one room, but only two sets of towels were provided. We purposely did not mention it to see if the staff would do it correctly the next day. They did not pass the test. Once we mentioned it to the front desk, the problem wasn't repeated. The first couple of days, we had to go to the front desk several times to get keys reissued because the ones we were given had stopped working. One member of our group went to the swimming pool, but reported that she did not enter the pool because it was quite disgustingly dirty. On the plus side, the rooms were a good size - even with the extra bed in one of the rooms, there was still room to move around. The hotel offers a decent breakfast buffet. We also had dinner in the cafe one evening and found the food quite adequate. Some of us were craving fresh vegetables and there were three or four salads on the menu, all of which were nice.”

• Good location near railroad station. Close to major tourist attractions. Good clean room for the price.
• No major negatives, good solid hotel.

• The hotel is in an ideal location and is convenient to mass transit, restaurants, and shopping.
• The hotel staff was rude, incompetent, and untimely. The first room we got was not even clean and the lobby always smelled like smoke.

“This hotel is in a good location. The staff are not friendly and not available. The alarm clock was impossible to set. When I came down in the middle of the night at 1:00 a.m. for assistance in setting it, the night manager said he didn't know how to set it either. The lobby was always smoke-smelling. The concierge is not helpful; you have to know what to ask for to get any help from them.”

• The location is excellent. It's near a subway line. Everything you'd need is in the surrounding area (shopping, entertainment, and sports).
• The carpet is a little worn out.

“I stayed in this hotel last summer and went back again this month. I simply love the hotel, especially the convenience. It's located in an upscale shopping mall in the city, one block away from a subway station. You can find anything you'd ever need in the surrounding area: department stores, restaurants, gym, swimming pool, billiard, Ping Pong, massage, movie theater, skating rink, tennis courts, video arcade, banks, drug stores ... There is even a gay bathhouse two blocks away. I'm considering to buy an apartment in the complex.”

• Rooms were a bit worn, in need of updating.

“Great location in the heart of town, within walking distance of several attractions. Good quality food (western) at hotel cafe. Our room was a bit worn, in need of some new furniture, wall coverings, carpet, etc. Bathroom was clean, but faucet needed repair. One disappointment: front desk ran out of Chinese currency, necessitating a surprisingly tedious search for another place to exchange money. I would recommend this hotel, but only if you are expecting a 2-3 star experience.”

• The health cub and spa were great.
• I little difficult for the cab drivers to find.

“The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. It was easy to communicate with the staff even though they all did not speak English. The only downfall is that the hotel is new and most cab drivers were unaware of it's location.”

“I went to Courtyard Beijing straight from J.W.Marriot in Hong Kong and was expecting more or less same level of service. God, I was wrong. The service was bad, all the way from Front Desk to Conceirge.”
