• Good location and service.
• Unanticipated $250 credit card hold for damage deposit.

“A slightly upscale hotel in a good location. The staff was helpful and quickly corrected the error they made in assigning me a double room after I had requested a single king room. I did not have an opportunity to try the restaurant.”

• They had wireless internet.
• The room had a strange odor and was very noisy.

“This hotel appeared to be in ok condition judging from the lobby however after entering the room I was greeted by a strange odor. In addition to the odor the room was barely cleaned. The beds have vinyl covers on them. Every time you moved, you could hear the vinyl stretching.”

• Very good service to fix minor problem as towel rack had broken. And was fixed promptly.
• Charge for parking.

• The building, facilities are nice and meet the needs of the average traveler.
• The service was awful!

“While the hotel itself is quite nice, clean, centrally located, the service we received was awful. The front desk clerk (who was actually a supervisor!) didn't tell us anything about the facilities offered at the hotel and we had to look them up ourselves. Apparently there was a fitness facility - but we weren't told about, and nothing was mentioned about the wireless internet (a huge selling point these days). I don't need to be fawned over, but a clerk checking me in who's not also on the phone and talking to other employees is not acceptable. Our stay was negatively affected by this lack of attention to us since we were forced to look up available services and ask questions that are normally part of the standard spiel when checking in. Hopefully others have a better experience with the staff because the hotel was nice enough.”

• Staff friendly and helpful. Room had nice decor and even microwave. Nicely surprised.
• Nothing.

“Excellent value. Great location, close to many things, including the Downtown core. Clean and modern. Had a microwave in the room. Accommodated our needs with a young toddler (i.e. Playpen). Friendly, helpful staff.”

• The front desk looks trendy, thought our room would be more of a reflection of the front.
• Hotel room smelled like wet dog. Hallway smelled like cigarette smoke even though our room was smoke free.

“Overall, the stay was ok. Looking out our window we were on the second floor looking straight at an overfull garbage bin, not very appealling. I liked the location because it was convenient for where I had to be. I wouldn't chose this hotel again though.”

• The restaurant and pub were nice. The room was very comfortable and the staff were fairly helpful.
• Parking is too expensive. Bath water came out brown at first. We had a view of several dumpsters.

“It met our purposes well. Fairly centrally located in an ok part of the city. The price was very good. I would have been willing to pay at least another $15.00 to $20.00 a night.”

• Nice room, good location, free WiFi.
• No free breakfast, staff took too long to check in.

“The hotel is nice, the rooms are kept nice, the TV in the room is good, free WiFi is a plus, there is only 1 elevator which can be slow, and check in was a little slow. Location is good because it is close to transportation, places to eat and sight seeing.”

• Some homeless people hang around at the hotel area.

• Very spacious, clean rooms. Great staff.
• It wasn't really 'downtown Vancouver'.

“All in all, this was a great hotel choice. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance, on site parking, and most importantly a clean, spacious room in a safe neighborhood.”

• Car park on site.
• Bed linens were old; lints on bedspread were itchy.

“I think this hotel was reasonable for the price. The room was small, only one elevator for the 5 storey building, limited undercover parking some outside, we heard yelling through the night. Since it was located inner city, I thought I had to accept them. This hotel is good for business travelers.”

• The rooms reminded me of the Westin! They were very modern and had a great feel.
• The view from the balcony on the third floor faces the dumpster and a hospital. No reason to go out on the balcony because of this.

“The lobby is very modern, sleek and attractive. The elevator and hallways were clean. The room was excellent. The beds were comfortable, the television very good, bathrooms clean with great, fluffy towels and a very good shower, the wood floor at the entry gave a level of class as did the carpet and the closet cabinet. Taxis were accessible and it was only a $6.00 fare to Granville Island and the Trolley. The only negative is the rooms that face away from the main street have a poor view which makes using the balcony not the most pleasant. Overall, this is a great hotel and we will be staying there on all of our trips to Vancouver!”

• The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly.
• The hotel lobby, elevator and hallways were not very warm or welcoming.

“The Park Plaza was a comfortable 2 1/2 star hotel to stay in. It is easy to get to using Vancouver's public bus system. It is a 15 minute scenic walk from the Granville Public Market. The staff was friendly and helpful however I found the lobby, elevator and public spaces not very warm or comfortable. The rooms were spacious, well-decorated and clean.”
