“The hotel was fine, although I have received better discounts in different cities through Priceline.”

“The hotel staff was friendly, but the shuttle service is not free and needs to be booked in advanced of checking in. It is close to several very good resturants, but a little far from some of the other city attractions.”

“Overall the location was great except for one main drawback (look for my remarks at the end). The hotel is within walking distance of port if you are taking a cruise. Room was very nice and clean, with a great view. Great place to stay, however we did not get the type of room we requested and staff was indiferent to my concern. A take it or leave it attitude.”

“The staff were accomodating and helpful - it was not their fault that the hotel is not located in a good shopping or sightseeing area.”

“Was very impressed when entering for the very first time. Everything looked clean and well cared for. The room was just spacious. Plenty of room to move around and gorgeous view of the city especially at night time. Only one set back. The shower. There was something stuck on the tile on the shower area. Was not sure what it was, but I used a pen to see if it was marked up or whatever. Turned out to be hair. Long black hair about 12 inches long and about 3 inches wide. Just stuck there. Not sure how the maid missed this. But I was appealed by it. Did not use the shower and had to sponge bathe. We only stayed one night as we just finished our tour to Alaska. The hotel staff was excellent. Very knowledgeable and eager to tell us what we wanted to know. Not sure I would stay there again because of the shower incident. Of all the questions, no one asked about the bathroom. Other friend in another room, stated she could not get the shower to work. Had to take a bath. So we both experienced a bathroom situation.”

“This hotel charged extra for everything. It was not busy and they would not provide a room with a fridge or balcony without extra charges. By the time we left, we could've stayed at a much nicer hotel for the same price. Parkade/elevator was very dirty.”

“The pool and view were very nice. With some updating of the rooms, decor and so forth, this could be a nice place to stay. The location isn't bad, just five minutes or so from the heart of Vancouver, Stanley Park and other tourist areas. Elevators are a bit slow when there are lots of guests, but overall, I'd recommend the hotel for those on a budget.

“I & my family enjoyed during our stay. Convenient location, easy to take bus especially my daughter going to UBC (University of British Columbia) and I notice lots of her friends happened to stay in same hotel at the same period also. Only if can improve a little decor to brighten the whole image will be perfect. I will come again definitely if I come to Vancouver.”

“The room I stayed in needs a renovation. Past dated wall paper and dirty smoke detector. Clearly room used to be smoking when requested non-smoking. The ceiling was dirty and window is single pane allowing street sounds disturb sleep.”

“Our room was on the 7th floor and had very nice views. The room was larger than average and nicely decorated. There were good restaurants and coffee shops nearby. This hotel is not near any of the tourist attractions of Vancouver. The Granville Island shopping area is nearest, about a mile away.”

“Great location for Vancouver, not downtown but in a safe area close to lots of small restaurants, coffee shops and drug stores. This hotel also had free wireless. The three other hotels that I stayed at in Vancouver and surrounding areas said wireless but for an additional high price per 24 hours. It's located near lots of major bus stops so getting around without a car is very easy. The hotel staff could have been a little friendlier, but other than that good hotel, great view, great location.”

“Older Holiday Inn property and not in downtown. Breakfast buffet available ($12), several good alternatives within a block. Very nice staff. Panoramic view and excellent sunset from pool level balcony (pool is inside) as well as from room. On same side of bridge as Granville Island (15-20 minute walk) but a good $15-20 cab ride to Stanley Park and other sites.”

“The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. They treated us as if we were very special. The rooms were inviting and clean. The housekeeping staff was so quick to clean our room, it was done by the time we came back from breakfast. The pool was not very warm, but it felt good on a hot day. All in all, a very nice experience.”

“This is a hotel in a great location, lots of shops within walking distance. Staff was very friendly. Hotel charges $9 a night for parking. This hotel could use some upgrading, especially the bedding.”
