  • The restaurant and fish pond in the hotel was fun. Very convenient location.
  • Run down. Little details overlooked - no conditioner with shampoo. Plastic glasses in the room. The tub plug didn't work. etc

“Great location. It is an almost 20 year old hotel that is sadly lacking in upkeep and repairs. The hot tub in the pool was out of order and didn't seem to have been filled in ages. The free wireless connection didn't work. Little things were overlooked - no conditioner with the shampoo in the room. The door of the sauna had a large gap at the top. The plug of our tub didn't work. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good - lots of lovely fresh fruit and juices, omelets to order. The fish pond and bridges in the main lobby were fun. Very soft beds.”

  • The location is good and the staff
    was
    very friendly.
  • The decor is '80s Asian theme, and is screaming for an update.

“ The hotel location was good for walking around downtown Montreal. Parking was $18 per 24 hours, with in and out privileges which seemed reasonable. The lobby/restaurant is a cool Asian theme with a Koi pond and walking platforms. The room itself, however, was the least positive aspect of our stay. While clean, its decor was an Asian theme from the '80s and is desperate for an update. The bathroom was big enough, but again the decor was awful. The shower was small, and the water temperature couldn't be easily adjusted, it was either freeze or burn. The room's TV was a 15 year old, small CRT not flat screen with an ancient remote and poor picture. But given that the novelty of a room wears off in the first 5 minutes anyway, the negatives weren't severe enough to ruin our stay. As a place to crash and store our stuff, it was fine. Just don't over-pay, as it does not qualify as an upscale hotel at least not anymore. ”

  • Location and being clean.
  • Try to charge us with a long distant call that we didn't make.

“We enjoyed our visit there and the location was excellent.”

  • The lobby area was very nice and my room was very large.
  • My room was showing signs of age.

“The hotel was decent and as expected for a Holiday Inn Select - nice but not fancy. The room was very large and would have been idea for a longer stay. Check in and out were both very efficient and pleasant.”

  • I
liked the location, good size room and
    very comfortable.
  • The TV signal is quite bad.

“I am very happy with this hotel. Great location located next to Chinatown and old Montreal. Good size room for my kid to walk around.”

  • Good central location.
  • Hated the cheese chinese decor.

“Horrible rooms, horrible staff and bad breakfast! The only thing that saves this property is the location and tourists from Asian countries that like the cheesy Chinese decor.”

  • Location was good and easy to find.
  • None smoking room that smelled like people still smoked in the room before us.

“Overall a good experience, didn't eat there as it was expensive and the room still smells as though people still in the rooms. This hotel could use a face lift on the inside. Mattresses are beginning to sag and there should be a way to turn of the ventilator in the bath room.”

  • Helpful friendly front desk staff.
  • The whirlpool and pool weren't fully functional.

“Opposite the Subway and close to Old Montreal, China Town and other Montreal Sites. The entry was a bit awkward as there was construction on the main floor and the lobby was on the second floor. There was a fetish convention and several of the guests were dressed in spandex with masks etc, which made for some awkward questions from my 12 year old son. I was fine about this, as it's all part of being in a big metropolitan city.”

  • It was located fairly close by to many places we were interested in visiting.
  • Service was very hit or miss. Some people were very nice, and others were very rude.

  • Proximity to Old Port.
  • Was given a two bed room as one person at the furthest end & lousy view.

“Very close to Old Port. Free Wi-Fi in the room was a good feature. Self park parking lot was also a good feature, $18 a day.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Great location. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Convenient parking.
  • No choice of non-smoking room. The smoke was waking us up at night.

“Overall experience is very positive. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious, very clean, very comfortable beds and pillows, huge bathrooms. Room service is fast. The hotel is perfectly located in between Saint-Catherine street where all the entertainment is and the Old town. There is really no need for the car, everything is a walking distance. Parking is a bit expensive ($18/day) but convenient - you can take your car and return to the garage any time without paying the fee again.”

  • Theme Chinese.
  • Rugs etc in hotel dirty.

“Great location. Rooms clean. Bathrooms look like remodeled recently. Rugs in hallways need to be replaced. Balconies on 8 and 9 are locked closed. Great location near old Montreal. Metro stop across the street. About three blocks from st Catherine's street.”

  • Staff was helpful.
  • Update the decor!

“Nice location adjacent to Chinatown. Nothing special, just a basic hotel with dated decor. Staff was very helpful, however, and when we had a small problem with the room, were quick to correct it.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Free internet, easy to park, decent location.
  • Internet speed is very slow, rooms could be cleaner.

“Overall, not a bad place to stay, just shouldn't be a 3 star. It's more like a 2.5 star hotel. The rooms aren't that clean but I was happy to get a fridge this time around. Also the internet connection isn't fast at all and always cuts in and out. If I had to I would stay here again.”
