• Great location; upscale accommodations; convenient parking; refrigerator, sink, and the micro-wave in room.
• Difficulty adjusting air conditioning.

• Close to many amenities (Metro, restaurants, coffee shops).
• Hard time opening hotel room door and bathroom is small.

• The fact that there was a refrigerator in the room.
• The exercise room was very poor and the
  TV in the room was very too small.

“This hotel is getting old. The
TV in the room was the smallest one I've ever seen, and the exercise room was very bad. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to one of my friend if the price stay the same. It's alright if you travel for business.”

• Old, dirty, decrepit furniture in bedroom.

“This hotel is old and requires updating. Everything is worn. The sofa in the bedroom was completely unacceptable: old, dirty, broken down.”

• Wireless internet did not work all the time - staff did not really know the status.

• Location; reasonably clean.
• Very poor air conditioning; old and worn furnishings; needs new bathroom.

“Very good location for Downtown Montreal access, so good for both business and vacation travelers. Not upscale, though might have been 25 or 30 years ago; needs refurbishing. Kitchenette useful for longer stays and with family.”

• Elevators took very long to get.

“Do not waste your money. Bathrooms need help, kitchen area is awful and one elevator broke the second day. Night staff absolutely rude and could care less.”

• At the Le Cantile in Montreal, all staff very friendly, very helpful in giving directions for tourists and recommendations.
• Being under the fitness room, a little noisy, but the fitness room closes at 11:00 p.m.

• Convenient location to university.
• Wanted to thank the front desk staff before leaving but they both exited and left me standing there. Awkward.

• Great location, friendly staff.
• Showers went from extreme hot to extreme cold without rhyme or reason.

“Excellent hotel. Close to major attractions, Bell Centre, St. Catharine's St, McGill etc. Very courteous staff that was willing to go above and beyond. Items that we forgot were available at the desk (e.g.. toothbrushes) and arrived very quickly.”

“Guy at front desk told us we had a no-smoking room. He was wrong. Our room smelled like cigarettes. Parking was quite expensive for a non-holiday. We were directed to a garage because we had an 'SUV' and because of that- the hotel wasn't going to pay for parking. Breakfast was a rip off.”

“We have stayed there many times in the past. The rooms need upgrading great hotel - the cleaning staff needs help. Our bathroom was disgusting. other than that - great stay!”

“This hotel is worth the amount I paid. Great location, close to Downtown. There were a few hairs on one of the beds and the elevators were tiny, slow, and too few for 27 floors. I would not recommend the restaurant and room service ended too early at night. Staff was helpful.”

• The location of the hotel was its best feature.
• Poor service, and we were led to believe that it was a 4 star hotel, when clearly not a 4 star hotel.

“Hotel is more than sufficient. The rooms are clean, and quiet. The staff is not the greatest, but they are adequate. The Downtown location of the hotel is fantastic, it is literally right in the middle of it all in Downtown Montréal, just two blocks from St Catherine. I would probably stay there again.”

“The location was fantastic. If you are willing to put with the exceedingly rude staff I would recommend it for a short stay. Interacting with the people that work there for more than two nights would be far too painful. There are plenty of hotels nearby so choose one of them instead.”
