“I go to Montreal quite a bit with friends for long weekends. I have stayed in many hotels down town and have stayed a the Sandman 3-4 times. Overall, I think the sandman is the best value and place to stay. Many of the hotels right in the city are double the price and not as clean. The Sandman is very clean is located right outside of a metro stop. We usually take the Metro into town for a night out and then get a taxi back to the hotel. The taxi usually costs about $20 Canadian dollars. Even when I stay right in the city I end up taking a taxi at night so it is not that big of a deal. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Montreal!”

  • Exceptional breakfast available for about $13.50 US, including taxes and tip.
  • Pan handlers and other unsavory types frequent the parking lot/entrance late at night.

“I have stayed at this hotel several times. It has always been my first choice when visiting Montreal. Since it is literally footsteps away from the Metro (subway), it is a great alternative to higher priced accommodations downtown. Restaurant and reception personnel are completely bilingual, although housekeeping may not be. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable and there are great views from upper floors. ”
