• Rooms and elevators were secure. Close to restaurants and shopping.
• Beds were much too soft, with no back support.

“In the heart of Calgary, and the arts/shopping and dining area of Stephens Avenue. Parking was an additional $25.00 for the night. Rooms were clean, but not vacuumed that well. Beds were much too soft, with no back support. Staff was helpful.”

“Hotel was conveniently located in Downtown Calgary near the LRT station. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable, clean and stocked with good quality amenities.”

• Pillows got flat, lounge closed too early - Friday 12am.

• Excellent location in Downtown Calgary.
• Costs for using amenities within the hotel, no free internet, only vending machines on a few floors.

“Great location in Calgary. Close to transit/restaurants. The hotel staff was very professional. The hotel was very clean. I was a bit disappointed at the room at this price point however. Small TV (CRT) no LCD monitor. No free internet access which I have seen at many competing hotels in my travels.”

• Ultra clean with amazing service. I love being called by name by all hotel staff.
• The gym ran out of water.

• Great location, in the heart of downtown Calgary.
• Steam room smelled awful and pool area was not very clean.

“I would recommend this hotel based on location. The room was spacious and clean, although the pool and steam room were not quite as well-kept, at least on the one night we were there. I would not classify this hotel as a 4 star deluxe, but overall, we had a good experience. Front desk staff was quite friendly and we didn't have any problems checking in or out.”

• Centrally located, attentive staff, clean and comfortable rooms.
• Parking $25 additional.

“Nicely appointed rooms and public areas. Fast elevators. Helpful and pleasant staff. But be prepared to pay $25 extra for parking if you want to park at the hotel. Lots of construction going on downtown nearby, so driving to/from the hotel can be trying at times.”

• Clean, comfortable room, quiet. Comfortable bed outfitted with quality bedding and good pillows.
• Parking costs $25 per day.

“The Hyatt in Calgary is a new hotel - that more than lives up to the Hyatt standard of clean rooms, helpful friendly staff and 4 star appointments. I would stay there anytime and my spouse enjoyed the Downtown location where good shopping is nearby.”

• Great location. Comfortable room. Good gym.
• The restaurant on Valentine's night was very poor. Run out of several main courses by 7.30pm . Long wait for everything.

“The hotel was in the perfect location for us and what we wanted to do in Calgary. The restaurant experience was unfortunate, but the manager did apologize that the Australian chef was new. The service staff in the restaurant tried, but were let down by the kitchen. The hotel itself was great. They must have a shortage of good cleaning staff as it was very late by time the room was made up. Because we were there for 4 days, I don't think they bothered too much with detailing the room over that time.”

• The service was excellent, even surpassing the Westin Calgary.
• The location is a bit far from the business core of Downtown and slightly dodgy at night.

“Staying at the Hyatt surpassed my expectations. I am usually a dedicated Westin Calgary guest, but since the recent Reno's, it is no longer my favorite hotel. The 24 hour gym at the Hyatt and the excellent service and motivation of the staff has made me love the Hyatt. Big, clean rooms. Too far from the Downtown core, but I am very familiar with Calgary and feel comfortable walking to my destinations.”

• Expensive to park a vehicle at.

“Wonderful. Room was nice, bathroom very big, bed was super comfy had a great time, parking is expensive though, staff was very friendly.”

• The fitness room was really nice. Hotel service was great!
• Nothing really, would have been nice to have a microwave in the room, also was hard to connect the wireless net.

“The hotel was in great shape, rooms were very clean. Fitness and pool we're in great shape! Shopping very close by, great location. Hotel made you feel like you were at home. I would definitely stay there again.”

“I have stayed at this hotel numerous times before in the past 4 years and even once organized a 500 seat banquet here. Although the basic rooms at the Westin a few blocks down are nicer, the Hyatt has much more hospitable, courteous and knowledgeable staff that make a stay more enjoyable.”

• Gracious staff beautiful building beside public transit great pool.
• We would prefer 2 queens as opposed to 2 doubles.

“The Hyatt is a lovely hotel with all the amentias and attention to detail one would expect from a 4 star hotel. The pools and exercise room are excellent and the view of the train line (LRT) kept my kids occupied for 20 minutes while I read my book. The only 2 drawbacks are it is not linked to the plus 15 walkway (a very minor issue), and that it is a little closer to some homeless shelters then other hotels. That being said there were no issues when walking around after dark.”

“Located in Downtown Calgary, easily accessible. Choice of valet or underground parking on own. Both very expensive. Need to factor this in when booking. An excellent hotel though. Clean, safe and comfortable.”
