  • Charge for internet.

“It works well for business travelers, but for a one-night stay at the end of a vacation (heading to airport the next day), it was more trouble than it was worth. Parking is in a parkade; getting off the downtown street into the busy front entrance area, wasn't nearly as easy as driving into a non-downtown area where there are simple parking lots at hotels. Front desk staff was very professional. We were accidentally assigned the same room as someone else who checked in at the same time - apparently due to the other people using a kiosk to check in at the same time we were checking in with the staff. So there was a second visit to the front desk to get that sorted out; we were upgraded to a nicer room without asking or expecting it. Meanwhile, it was getting later at night and it seemed like it was taking a while just to get into our room. Needing internet access to check our flight information for the following day, we noticed a card on the desk saying to check the guest services book for internet information. Unfortunately, the information was missing from the book in our room, as was all the other informations that would usually be found therein. It contained only the room service and restaurant info. I called the front desk and they offered to send up another book. I asked about the internet availability; however, only after walking to the business center did we learn that it was closed for the night. It would have been helpful if the hours had been given by phone. The next morning, I was startled when, after stepping out of the shower, a window washer showed up outside the 2 small bathroom windows (17th floor!). There are thing shades covering the bathroom windows; I could see the man, not sure if he could see me. It would have been nice to know that there would be window washing; this notice was provided at another hotel we stayed at previously.”

  • Beautiful rooms
  • Parking was an additional $25 a night on top of the room fees.

“Overall a beautiful hotel with outstanding rooms and good service. The resturants and lounges are top notch, if not a little expensive.”

  • The doorman and concierge were great.
  • Nothing.

“When I arrived, the doorman asked if I needed my vehicle during my stay. Since I did not,
suggested the lower priced self park.
Check in at the front desk was quick and my bags were in my room as soon as I arrived at my room. Then the concierge located Calgary Stampede Rodeo tickets for me. She also explained the light rail which I used during my two day stay. Great people there at the Hyatt in Calgary.”

  • This hotel was very clean and close to many amenities.
  • Spa and room service was very expensive but expected at this type of hotel.

“I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Close to many amenities. I would definitely stay there again.”

  • Location, central, close to restaurants, transportation and shopping.
  • Parking was a big shock it is extra and very expensive.

“Good - Hotel was very nice. Centrally located, close to shopping and restaurants. Bathroom in our room was very spacious. Bad - beds were small, they were only doubles. Parking is extra and very expensive.”

  • Excellent service, perfect location.

“Rivals the palliser - not as charming, however, the location is better and the service is equally excellent!”

  • Gym and pool has panoramic view of Calgary.
  • Television is old, toiletries are not good.

“The hotel is in a great part of town and convenient for shopping and dining. The room is not big and amenities are only standard, but the room feels new and relatively clean. The gym, pool, Jacuzzi and sauna are on a high floor with a panoramic view of the city. Parking is expensive but probably due to the location.”

  • Close to shops.
  • Rooms are small, no microwave, no fridge in the room.

“Our room were small and has a smell. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so it stinks when someone is using it. Not what I expected from a four star hotel. Not recommended for a family that's traveling.”

  • Large bathroom.
  • NA.

“I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. We were told that they would have a room for us in 1/2 an hour, after coming back they tried again to give me the 16th floor, so after 2 more hours they were able to clear a room for us with a king bed and we had to get a cot. I missed a diner date with friends and was very upset with having to wait 2.5 hours just to get a room. I gave a low rating for the staff in that I was lied too, if he had told me it was going to take 2 hours I could have gone to my dinner date.”

  • The bathroom was nice and roomy. The pool area was very pleasing atmosphere.
  • The room was not clean by any means.

“The room was so dusty that if I had asthma there would be no way I could have stayed in that room. Even the bathroom counter had not been cleaned. The TV was so archaic that I couldn't even plug in my camcorder. The rest of the furniture fit right along with it. The bedding linen was fitted so poorly it all came un-tucked. The fitness room was extremely cramped though the equipment was top of the line. Single cup coffee makers don't cut it for a double occupancy.”

  • All around pleasant attitude of everyone.
  • Air conditioner needs to blow more cold air in such hot weather!

“Although food and drinks were expensive, they were both well worth it and the service was the best I have had in many, many business trips. Room was updated and clean, clean, clean. Everything from room service to valet parking was efficient, friendly and exactly what you would expect (but do not always get) from a 4 star hotel. It was a wonderful experience.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Very comfortable beds.
  • Television could be updated.

“I was very pleased with this hotel. The staff was excellent and the room was very comfortable. I've stayed at other upscale hotels in Calgary and the Hyatt is above or on par with most of those. The only complaints would be that the television in the room was a bit outdated and the self checkout feature could not be completed due to technical issues. In my opinion, these are very minor issues and I would definitely stay at the Hyatt again.”

  • The location is excellent - across the street from a wonderful museum.
  • Had to pay for parking - I hate that.

“This hotel delivers what you would expect from a 4 star Hyatt. Great location right downtown. Staff was great, helpful, even funny when my daughter checked in wearing her oil field gear. Nice pool and hot tub. Quiet rooms. Actually has enough elevators, no waiting.”
