“It is in walking distance uphill from the Ferry terminal, everything goes down hill from there. It is not a typical Rudd property, try the other Rudd hotel in town.”

• The few hours' sleep before we left.
• Gave our pre-paid room away and sent us down the road to a worse room.

“Worst nightmare. Tired from a long drive from Halifax, we arrived in the evening with our 22 month old and some groceries, to be told they had given our room away "somehow"! We were sent to their sister hotel Rodd Grand, promised similar accommodation (king, small room, the fridge was warm--upset, exhausted, past 10 p.m. we further suffered its repair/replacement so our babe's milk would keep). We've traveled a lot, and this was by far the worst.”

• Close to The Cat terminal
• Terrible service, awful rooms, confusing layout

“I was quite disapointed in the service of the hotel staff. After waiting ten minutes to be seated for breakfast without even being acknowleged by the many servers, we decided to go elsewhere. The woman working the front desk was less than helpful, telling us that there are only two restaurants in town: the one in our hotel, and one in the other Rodd hotel. They were also less than helpful with respect to providing us with what to see in their town, as we wanted to get a good feel of Yarmouth in the 24 hours we were there. Their only suggestion was an overpriced Rodd-run bus tour. My wife and I decided to walk the town, starting at the Tourism Centre (where we received lots of friendly assistance). The only good aspect of the Colony Harbour Inn was its close proximity to The Cat, but if we choose to stay in Yarmouth again, I believe we'll walk the couple extra blocks to another hotel in town.”
