• The beds and linens were incredible. The best sleeps of our whole trip. Nice pool and fitness salon.
• The construction that woke us up at 7am even on a Saturday morning.

“This hotel is perfectly situated in Old Montreal near the port and Notre Dame de Grace, yet close to metro and transit. The hotel room was clean and the bed and linens luxurious. We highly recommend this hotel.”

• Easy to get to, convenient location.
• Room a bit threadbare, noisy elevators, no air conditioning.

“Looks like this place is due for some upgrades; certainly not up to the standards of Intercontinental. Our room was down the hall from the elevators and we could hear them whooshing 24 hours a day. The room was warm and stuffy and the AC did provide any relief.”

• Beautiful hotel in a great location.
• No open windows or balconies.

“I called the hotel 2 days prior to checking in and requested a room with 2 beds and smoking. When I arrived and checked in, the clerk read that I had requested a king sized bed. I was mortified as I was there with a male friend and that totally gave the wrong impression. As there were no other rooms available, the brought a cot up to the room which actually embarrassed me more. The room we received was also non-smoking. We called down to the front desk and were informed that there were no smoking rooms available but they would move us the following day. We never received that call. Upon checking out, we had extra charges to our room for room service. The order took place at a time when my friend and I were not even at the hotel. When I informed the clerk of this, she said she would have my signature verified with the room service order to see if they matched. I did not appreciate her treating me as though I were lying. I ended up having to leave not even knowing if I was being charged for something that I did not owe.”

• Staff was excellent all round.
• Charge For Internet.

“Excellent hotel with great staff. Met expectations and reason for stay. If your stay in Montreal is the downtown core or off the Metro do not rent a vehicle. Charge was $27 per day with no in & out privileges. One disappointment in this day and age was no free internet service. Charge was $15 per day and speed was poor.”

• The Intercontinental Montreal had a very nice feel to it old and new were amalgamated.
• The smoking floor was being renovated and unfortunately there were no alternatives for rooms.

• Parking is expensive.

• Concierge was frequently closed and inaccessible.

• Anything extra costs money; parking, internet, coffee.

“Internet $14.95, parking $26/24 hour, extra pot of coffee - $6.50, beds - doubles not queens, small room, dirty carpet. Staff is accommodating, hotel policies- not so great.”

• I loved the size and comfort of the rooms.
• There is nothing that I did not like.

“Excellent service from front door until exit. Rooms are large, spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are quite large with separate shower.”

• The location is excellent, near Downtown, the subway and old Montreal.
• You can hear the elevators in the rooms.

• I liked how the hotel was close to the Bell Center. I enjoyed the mini bar selection and the snack selection.
• The prices for the mini bar were way too expensive.

• The location was close to Chinatown, and we enjoyed using the fitness center and the pool.
• Our view was unexciting, the valet parking was expensive and slow at times no microwave, no free local calls.

“Our overall experience was excellent. The elevators did not go to the main floor and the valet parking was disorganized at times. The concierge was helpful and so was the fitness attendant. We were visiting relatives and missed free local calling.”

• Overall nice hotel. More a 3 and a half star then a 4.
• Breakfast was not included! (Didnt know about it).

• The hotel has lush public spaces that are cozy and quiet.
• I could hear the couple in the next room through the walls.

“The hotel is lovely and compares well to Montreal's other good chain hotels in Montreal like "La Vogue" where the staffs are bilingual, professional, and well mannered. Like all large hotels, it lacks some of the charm that can be found in the Old Town part of Montreal where places like "Nelligent" offer equally comfortable rooms. However, the International is set up for serious travelers who expect a certain standard and it excels at meeting them.”
