“Would be fabulous in winter or even if the room was not over the heated garage. The Keg restaurant was quite good with excellent, friendly staff. The hotel desk staff was just as good, most helpful.”

“A short stroll to the downtown area, the hotel was everything I expected for service and facilities. A genuine extra was the treatment by all of the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, we truly felt welcomed more as people than as tourist dollars. Whenever I think of the town, I will always remember my stay at the lodge.”

“Our room was uncomfortably warm, so we needed the window open when sleeping. The room overlooked an inner courtyard, so many rooms were facing each other across the courtyard. One room had their window open and a wailing baby that cried for over an hour. We finally phoned the front desk and asked them to get the people to close their window. Nothing was done and we finally had to shut our window and put cotton in our ears to keep out the noise. In the morning, the tea kettle did not work and the coffee maker had a hair in the section where you pour water. We have stayed in Banff many times before and have tried many of the three and four star hotels there. We would never go to this hotel again, as it really put a damper on our trip.”

“The Banff Caribou Lodge is conveniently located on Banff Ave with bus service, walking access to downtown shops and restaurants. The on site restaurant served excellent food for both lunch and dinner. The hotel room was quiet and well appointed with two king beds. The steam room and hot pool, which is available for hotel guests was a treat and there is a spa available as well.”

“All in all it was great value with tones of extras including free parking, free bus passes and internet. Great spa and tremendously helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are a bit worn but nothing to complain about. Here is the one reason that would deter me from staying. It's the first time ever I have stayed at a hotel than ran out of hot water. Apparently the hotel was full and all the hot water completely consumed. All I ask for is a comfortable stay and I thought hot water would have been part of it.”

“First choice place to stay in Banff, great location, on the buss routes for the ski areas, parking was heated and undercover - important when cold and snowing out. Lobby was very appealing with fireplace and large comfortable sofas, the rooms however were some what smaller and dated. Bathroom amenities - soap, shampoo and etc local made, natural products, a very nice touch.”

“The 1st. room we were in had no heat (-20'sC outside), we were moved. The 2nd room the remote broke, staff couldn't find one that worked. The hot pool heater was not working, therefore called it a lukewarm pool. Small problems, but problems just the same.”

“Let's say we use a Fairfield inn as a reference point. Fairfield inns only get two stars but they're usually pretty good and predictable. This place would fall below a Fairfield inn. Smelly pillows/bedding. Weak shower. Tattered carpeting. No air conditioning. The internet port is at the nightstand and not by the work table (dumb). This place is ok for an overnight stay but they need to take care of the basics. The fancy lobby and spa stuff don't make up for a lack of basics.”

“The hotel has a beautiful lobby and nice hot tubs and fitness room. But the room we had has only a tiny window that faces the street, so it was kind of dark inside. The hotel locates on the far side of the main street. It is a good ten minutes walk to the shops and restaurants. There was no free shuttle as advertised, though the hotel did provide complementary bus tickets. A downside for senior travelers.”

“Very clean and spacious rooms. Bedding is deluxe, as is the balcony overlooking the street with snow covered mountains behind that! Excellent restaurant, "The Keg", had prices similar to the big cities, even, not to mention the delicious steak I had. All in all a very nice hotel.”
