“Great Hotel. The location and staff are phenomenal. Located centrally to all historic sites, walking distance. The rooms were very nice, updated and modern style. Only drawback, breakfast is not included and can be expensive if one does not pay attention.”

“Design is modern and not in a good way, you might as well be in Toledo, staff were very nice but are kept very busy, a very easily forgotten hotel, my second experience with Meriden and I think my last.”

“Before going to Vienna we researched and read reviews on majority of the 5 star hotels and decided to go for Le Meridien Wien based on reviews on this website. We went ahead with our booking via expedia and was looking forward to good service, a big comfortable room and an enjoyable stay. However our 3 night stay turned into a disappointment when we got there. At the reception we were told that the price we paid via expedia was for a superior queen room and included breakfast but to our amazement when we arrived at our bedroom, it was small, had a double bed and was prepared for only one person (one pillow, one bathrobe, one pair of slippers etc etc) when our booking was for a couple. We decided therefore to upgrade to an executive room (having to pay 30 euros a night more) because a couple couldn't possibly stay in the tiny single bedroom. And during this transition I had to carry my luggage around without the help of a porter (though the ppl at the reception were polite they were not helpful and gracious). During our stay we requested for the mini bar to be restocked in the evenings (as you know from previous reviews the bar isn't well stocked and only had two bottles of beer) and additional towel and sewing kit. These requests took them 1-2 hours to be acted upon (something you'd expect from a 3 star hotel not a 5 star hotel). When we checked out we were furious to find out that they had charged us 45 euros for breakfast for three days and that actually our reservations via expedia did not include breakfast! We could not argue that we had been told that breakfast was included upon checking into the hotel when on paper it was not included. (Could they not have reminded us during the breakfast that we had to pay for it!!) The trip to Vieanna could have been a lovely romantic experience for us turned out to be a great disappointment. Other qualms include1. bathroom flooding as there are no doors for the shower2. lack of english movie channels (everything in german)3. you have to pay for internet access downstairs when in the rooms it's free only if you have a network card on you laptop (no wireless)4. poorly stocked free minibar5. overpriced restaurant and barIn summary, if you're gonna pay that much of money for a good 5 star hotel, there are better places to stay than Le Meridien”
