  • The inclusive bar, water aerobics, nightly entertainment!
  • Weak, untrained staff, mis-communication among staff, not enough towels.

“I recently had the pleasure of staying at Club Embarcadero Pacifico. 1st and last impressions are lasting and let me tell you mine. When [we] arrived, we were treated with a very weak greeting. But the services quickly improved. My stay was semi-comfortable since my request to have my A/C fixed or have my room changed was somehow overlooked or disregarded. The food could be cooked slower (to make meat items a little more tender like beef and pork) but the fruit more than made up for this. And what is up with not being able to order a Coke in the morning? The staff is generally friendly but can stand to take a session or two in hospitality. The pool was excellent and very clean. The staff again, however, somewhat irritable and defensive when presented with a problem. When [we] were leaving, after having a nice conversation with the General Manager about how generous he was in our stay, and then later a word with the desk supervisor about erroneous telephone charges, the reception clerk continued to argue about whether certain charges were legitimate or not. This clearly showed lack of professionalism and disregard for her supervisor's signature and authority. I paid my bill with a $100 U.S. bill that should have been received at the current trade rate but was received as a $100 Pesos instead. My change was short. Another couple had experienced the same problem earlier that week. I was told there was no Internet service available when in fact there is. Overall, with a little training, this hotel can easily be a 4 Star Hotel. Because of the "small stuff" I rate this Hotel as a 3 Star Hotel. I still recommend this hotel to those tolerant of these shortcomings and perhaps points of improvement.”

  • All inclusive meals and drinks, very tidy and well kept.
  • Language barriers made finer details difficult.

“I stayed in this hotel for five days with two of my friends. The room was very spacious and clean, although the bathroom area was too small for more than one person to get ready at a time. A door separated the toilet and shower area from the sink, though. Overall the hotel was very clean and the landscaping was meticulously kempt. The staff had trouble with English, which for a big hotel like the Embarcadero was a surprise. Beware of the in lobby tourist guide if you don't like confrontation, but, if you're legitimately lost on tourist attractions, they were actually quite helpful and even give a discount to friendly foreigners. The pool is spectacular and the all inclusive free drinks and meals were amazing. If you see Victor or Pedro the bartenders, ask them for the Miami Vice. The only odd thing I noticed is the night watchman asks you for your room number if you come in after hours. Which if you happen to be intoxicated is really tough to remember, even worse if you don't know Spanish. Oh yeah, learn some Spanish before you go. It makes it a lot easier to get around that town. I really enjoyed my stay at the Embarcadero. If I had to do it over I would stay at the Pacifica since it's next to the beach, but I really liked the location, the service and the atmosphere.”
