“Enjoyed the Holiday Inn. This was an all inclusive. The beach front was great, weather 32 - 34 degrees Celsius every day, no rain, picked out our own tours, not hassled by time share. Enjoyed shopping on the beach, seeing local sellers we met in the past. I was in PV the last week of February 2008; I had been in PV about 1992. PV has certainly grown up. Bus to Wal-Mart just for a few things, toured the market-vendors. If you want fun in the sun either by the pool or on the beach it is good. For the price it was great for an all inclusive. Hotel could do a few upgrades; however, I was satisfied with this place. Air conditioning, coffee maker in the room, hair dryer, clean. Meals were good, buffet and dining in other restaurants available. Would go again.”

“This is mainly an all inclusive option hotel. If you haven't paid for these options the food is expensive. 1/2 the rooms are on the north side. A major construction project is started there. It has just started and looks like over 1 year or more is left to finish it. They work till 9 o'clock at night or later. All the construction sounds come right into your room if you are on that side. The views from that side are mainly now only partial ocean. We would not accept the construction side room. The front desk does not cooperate to get you a room on the other side. We were told that there were no rooms available. After much arguing we were told we would be put on a waiting list. That did not happen. After much arguing we were finally put on the list. We spent 4 nights in a room with no view on the bottom floor right across from the bar. We spent the last 3 nights on the 8th floor with a nice view. We do not go on vacation to argue. We weren't the only unhappy people. Since we had to spend so much time at the front desk we heard a lot of complaints i.e. TV¿s did not work, power out in rooms, no toiletries left by maid, digital clocks in room with wrong time, rooms not cleaned until as late as 4pm, dirty water coming out of the faucets when you first turn them on, rusty pipes leaving rock like deposits in bath tub, requests for service promised by the front desk or room service that never came through, floods from a surface floor drain when the bath tub was drained.”

“The floors and room were fine, except that there is a major construction project next door, which is ongoing through each night with lighting and loud equipment. There are no -- I repeat -- no ice machines in the hotel, though about half of the staff seems to think they are on certain floors. The others know that you can call room service to get ice. More than an hour later. This hotel is kid-infested, but most of them were well-behaved. The beach is nice, but the hotel is not near central pv, and there is a constant stream of people trying to sell you stuff, including an outfit called "royal holidays," which has a table in the lobby and has staff who are trained in harassment. I also received calls from these people, "complimentary" desserts delivered to my room (room service entered without permission). That took about 15 minutes to straighten out. I stayed in two other hotels in pv during the same trip. I would not stay at this holiday inn again. Also had one meal there. In two weeks in Mexico, it was by far the worst: enchiladas with, I kid you not, marinara sauce and parmesan cheese on them. Yuck.”

“Our family traveled to Puerto Vallarta during Spring Break 2005. We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 4 nights. The Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were fortunate enough to get an updated room that was very nice and clean. We have 3 small children so the space was ok but could have been a bit bigger. We were given the option to stay in a 2 bedroom suite but chose not to because it was one of the older rooms that was not updated or clean and did not smell very nice. The hotel grounds and beach were very nice but steer clear of the beach for swimming - this time of year the jellyfish do not allow you to swim in the ocean. The food offered in the hotel is not the greatest - after the 2nd day I needed something better and the selection for the kids is very scarce. We used the kids club a few days and they enjoyed it very much - they have a nice little kids pool with slide. Look for the plankton on the beach after 10 pm - very fun for the kids. Sorry cannot comment on the restaurants in the hotel - did not have time to try them - you need a reservation. Hard to do with kids. We also stayed at Casa Iguana for 4 nights (wonderful hotel and the food is to die for!) 3 bedroom suite - awesome!!”

“Me and my 18 year old daughter and cousin went from March 24th through the 31st, 05'. I was a little concerned about this hotel before I stayed there. After I booked it, I read some bad reviews and almost canceled. I'm glad I didn't.”

“Rooms in the 9 story tower are nice but the hotel appears to intentionally overbook and switch guests to rooms not even in their published room inventory that are located in an adjacent tower that is being gutted out for condominium sales. During the day you are subjected to construction noise and chemical smells. The rooms in that tower are carpeted (dirty, spotted and worn), smell of mold and mildew and are not well maintained. The elevators to that tower are scary. During our stay several groups were stuck in the elevator and people reported that doors opened to a concrete wall between floors. Good luck getting hot water... There are a number of other hotel properties within walking distance from this one. I would walk/run to one of those properties before wasting time and money at this location.”
