“Nice hotel. Rocky beach, but pool compensated this deficit. Overall, good experience.”

“Aggressive Timeshare sales, the hotel seems to be in lock down plastic and wicker room furniture. Nice views from the rooms.”

  • The public areas were family friendly and clean.
  • Lack of communication amongst the staff.

“Overall disappointed with the Sheraton. They checked us into a room that had a leak in the roof (it rained each night) knowing before we checked in that there was an existing leak. Upon complaining about the room, it took several people and several phone calls to get a new room and never an official apology. Very disappointing. I will not be recommending this hotel to friends and family.”

  • Left me alone.

“I was disappointed with this hotel; I poured myself a drink in a glass and the bubbles appeared from glass not being rinsed thoroughly. At one point my electricity just disappeared and while the maintenance person that eventually showed up and fixed it; reporting problem and waiting was inconvenient. Something every potential guest should know is that if you get the new beds that they have; they leave a notes saying that you should be careful not to stain the bed or you will be charged for it, so they suggest you not wear lotion while sitting on it, etc. Which is some what ridiculous because when youre traveling you dont want to have to do that? You wear sun block and after day of sightseeing sometimes all you want to do when you get back to hotel is plunk down on the bed. So basically the bed is like an eggshell you don't want to step on. It seemed like they were trying to move in the direction of the Westins heavenly bed, but it didn't come even remotely close to it.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Very convenient to Downtown. Bus stop across the street. Clean rooms.
  • Rooms are bare.

“Sheraton Buganvilias is in a great location - very close to Downtown PV and the romantic zone. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Very good value for the money. Rooms are clean and comfortable but bare bones. Some rooms are above the bar and disco lounge so the music can get loud at night. There are only balconies on two floors. The hotel architecture and design of rooms is a little older. They are gradually remodeling the rooms. Only floor 21 had been remodeled at the time of this writing.”

  • Good location, fairly nice pool.
  • The hotel looked as though it could fall apart any minute. Facilities were nothing special. Beach was no good. Service was poor.

“I feel as though I selected a 4 star hotel and got a 2.5 star hotel.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[4] • Location:[6]

  • None.
  • Dirty rooms, dirty bed linens, dirty and stained couch.

“Was not impressed with this hotel at all. Was a nice resort feel property but very impersonal and staff was not very friendly. Dirty floors, couch in room was stained and dirty.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[4] • Location:[7]

  • The pool.
  • The room decor and unclean rooms and bathroom.

“There is no way the room we received was a 4 star. The bathroom was dirty, mold around tub, dead bugs. The bedding was dirty, very plain white walls no deco, cheap furniture. Basically very ugly rooms for a Sheraton.”

  • Somewhat close to "Old Town". Nice pools.
  • Beds were small and uncomfortable.

“We stayed just one night as we were heading to an another resort the next day. Good location and very nice pool area. As we were just in a hotel room with two double beds, we would not have wanted to stay there for more then a day or two. I am sure that they had larger rooms/beds. Beautiful views.”

  • It is close to downtown.
  • We upgraded to master suite but didnt reflect MS condition.

“We overall liked the hotel but when we got there we decided to upgrade to master suite. It was very, very disappointing. The quality of the furnishings weren't up to par with what we believed a master suite should be.”

  • I thought the location was great. We were picked up for a City Tour right from the hotel.
  • I thought the hotel was great.

“I (mom) was traveling with my 18 yr old son. I was not informed as to which lobby I should go to. At the second lobby, I was informed that there was only one bed. After going to the first lobby and then into the registration room, and approx. 45 min. later, I was given a room with two beds at an additional $50 per day cost. The room location was great. The Murphy bed plus on bedroom served our needs. The location of hotel was within walking distance of Downtown Puerto Vallarta. The hotel restaurant food and location was great. It was a pleasant stay. The checkout at Noon took 45 minutes. The cost from the airport was $20. We were given the name of the No Name Restaurant as a place to watch USA Basketball games for March Madness. Good place.”

  • I liked the pool, the kid's activities center and the gardens.
  • The hotel didn't have a nice beach, no sand only rocks, the sea was very cold, nobody could swim in the ocean.

“Very clean, a lot of attention, great pools, always heated and clear. Nice family hotel.”

  • Very good location, the hotel has very nice facilities.
  • Food was very expensive and we got a room on the first floor and it was very noisy since it was near the lobby.

“The hotel has very nice facilities, the rooms are nice and comfortable; it has a very good location and the staff is friendly. The food is not so good and it is very expensive. The first floors are very noisy since they are very near the lobby.”

  • Sales clerk. That's it. Seriously!
  • Sub-standard service; check-in process a misery; Asked to speak to management; no one responded!

“Service-oriented, non-existent. Pool close at 2200, but 'towel service' ends at 2030! (?) Food quality and presentation was not reflective of a 'resort' environment and expectation. Most of the waiters and waitress made up for the deficiency. Check-in process, a nightmare!”

  • Friendly atmosphere. Spotlessly clean. Nice amenities.
  • Liked it all.

“Friendly & efficient check in. Comfortable & clean room. Loved the pool, spa & waterfall. Enjoyed the Sunday brunch. No downside as far as we could tell.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Location, clean, very quiet, great facilities, and very safe.
  • Staff member recommended a local restaurant that was terrible, unclean! And bad location.

“Hotel was close to a local grocery store (Mega) one block, local coffee shops nearby. I used the gym facilities and it was decent, updated equipment. Local gyms were in walking distance. Hectors Restaurant was one block up. Hotel pool facilities are private, clean.”

  • Location was a real plus. The pools were very nice and overall the whole place very clean.
  • The time share sales people right in the lobby bug you non stop. Need better pool side glasses as the ones they use fall over or crush by just holding.

“This hotel serves up a great place to unwind. The location is great for travel north or south. Lunch menu food very good. Night time buffet are not very good. Food needs to be upgraded to meet the star rating that Sheraton has. Overall, had wonderful time an enjoyed the Sheraton.”

  • Staff were very helpful.
  • At check-in they changed my room three times. One room they sent me too was too loud.

“Very nice staff. Good food and drinks. Very good room. Everything seems a bit expensive, though, for Puerto Vallarta.”

  • Mexico is beautiful.
  • The room.

“This is the worst 4-star I have ever visited. I believe there are different star levels on the property. They did not have our reservation then once they saw the rate we paid, we were placed in the lower start wing. Very disappointing.”
