“In the Airport beware of timeshare people before the exit. Just tell them that you are in a hurry because they are picking you up. They will promise you a 50 minutes presentation that will take you at least 4 hours of your time and give you a small reward. Always ask the taxi how much he will charge from point A to point B. You should exchange some dollars from the airport for the cab and keep in mind that the exchange rate at the hotel is a little better than most places. Me and my wife traveled with our 8 year old and they offered us a suite with a hot tub for an extra $. It was really worth it. In some cases they may have an extra bed for your child. The hotel has a little travel hut were you can negotiate excursions. The best one they have is the Zip Line. Its much better than the one in Cancun and you go over a river. Our 8 year old loved it. If you plan on going out get a lot just get the Buffet is included in your package. The food is above average and you get to eat from 7-12 pm. Driving is a nightmare, so you might reconsider if you plan on renting a car. The hotel has a Thrifty Auto Booth and I think you can also rent a GPS from them. I brought my own. Phones are pretty cheap down there ($40.00) with a local phone # and credits. We went from Dec 28 to the 31st 2009 and the weather was perfect. It was in the 80s and we just loved it. The pool was very warm and it has a kid side (3-8). They also have a kids center. I loved the beach, the waves were big on certain hour of the days, the water wasnt cold. The bottom did have some big rocks toward the deep end. But it was mostly Sand. The down side was that you had to go to the Playa de los Muertos to go Parasailing. Its about 15 minutes away and they charge $35.00 + plus the cab ride ($15.00). (I got to see a family of Dolphins from the air). That Playa de los Muertos beach is worth going because they have a lot of knock off stuff like purses, sunglasses and trinkets in their flea market. They also have a lot of food and fish shrimp or mango on a stick (my favorite). Always negotiate the prices on everything in that Beach. Its also within walking distance to the Malecon by the Famous Arcs so you can take pictures. The beach is rocky, but we went there mainly for the parasailing, the food and souvenirs. Overall, the hotel is one of the best I ever went to and this was my wifes first time and my second time (She loved it) and our son loved it.”

“The hotel was nice, but they did not have a hot tub, the staff wasn't very friendly. It was far away from everything, and they add an extra service charge at the end for using the toilet and shower.”

“The room, location, and beach were the best! However, we felt the staff was cold and inconsiderate, esp. Because we did not attend a presentation. There was a distant vibe from the staff.”

“The hotel is beautiful with many flowers hanging on the outside. We stayed in a single room with a king bed. We loved the room and the bathroom was nice, the bathtub could have used some work. The view on the balcony was absolutely gorgeous. We actually saw whales from our balcony. It was a little cool when we went so we did not swim, but they have a nice pool and beach. This hotel is ten minutes from town and is more secluded, so cab fare is a little more expensive. I would love to stay there again.”

“Hotel was good, the location was away from downtown , which was nice to enjoy the beach, but limited selection of restaurants. We ended up going to the town frequently for food. Staff at the restaurants was very friendly, front desk staff was not very friendly though. What put me off were the hidden charges revealed during checkout. The hotel added $12 per day Service & resort fee, and additional $100 resort fee per stay.”

“The place was nice back in the 50's. Today, like old starlets, the hotel is in need of a face lift. The bed and sheets were what you would expect in a Motel 6 and the shower was prefect if you were under 4'11". Had a nice ocean view but could never enjoy it since it overlooked the pool where there were drunks down there until the wee hours. At the pool you had to basically serve yourself since there were 6 servers milling around the bar but not one came to our table to ask if we needed anything.”

“Slightly remote, but easy access to downtown on city bus (bus is fun for kids, big smiles running to catch it, bumpy ride along winding road). Spacious rooms with no maintenance tile floors. Upper floors have a nice view and gentle sound of surf is excellent to sleep to. Good destination hotel to decompress, away from the club scene.”

“Hotel and rooms were great. View was excellent. Beds were soft. Pillows felt like sand paper. The staff did not speak much English and it very clear that they valued non-Americans much more than American guests.”

“The hotel is located on a beautiful white sand beach, and is a short and convenient bus trip to town. I was very much impressed by the quality of the rooms.”

“Fabulous! Location, view, beach, pool, service, food - no complaints except they had a sales pitch for points-based time share that wasted over four hours of one day. We were told it would take 60 minutes, and were told it was not a time share. Other than that, we loved the place, and will definitely plan to return in two years. We just won't get pulled into the sales pitch next time.”

“The pool and beach were beautiful and the rooms clean with excellent complimentary toiletries. A little too far from town if you were looking to experience Po¿s night life or shopping. The bus though was easy and inexpensive to take into town and back. The pool attendant will write something in the sand to surprise someone for a small tip. I paid 50 pesos.”

“Excellent and very friendly service. Very clean and a very safe feeling. Food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. It was a great place to unwind and would greatly recommend to others who simply need or want a quiet get away with great service at hand. A bit distant from other hotels and shopping but cab service available and very reasonable.”

“I confirmed this upon check in. When we checked out, we were told we had to book between Aprils and may (I think). No where on the site did it say that - only that it wasn't good for 9/13 through 9/17. ”
