• Family friendly with excellent staff.
• Bathrooms in hotel room needs updating.

“We just returned from visiting this resort for 5 nights. We had a great time with our 2 year old. The food and drinks were good with plenty to choose from. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Small kids have plenty to keep them busy between the beach, the pools, and the play area kids club. The only drawback is the bathrooms needed updating in the hotel rooms, but were functional. However with such a nice resort to explore we only used the hotel room for sleeping. Everywhere else in this resort has been recently updated and we had a great time.”

• From check-in to departure the staff at Sun spree were Great!
• Channel for Cat sailing didn't allow self skippering.

• The air conditioning was effective.
• Horrible room.

“I stayed with my sister and friend as an overnight stay for our travel on to Santa Cruz the next day. Old furniture that I would not have been able to give away. A dreary bathroom and only one set of towels. We rang for two more sets but only one came up! No tea making facilities in the room and only one not very clean looking drinking glass. When we checked out the receptionist was so rude I was appalled. One night was enough. The hotel management should be ashamed.”

“Here is our opinions far as we are concerned there are only 2 things wrong with this resort, the air conditioning in the guest rooms is dated and noisy (but very efficient) and the guest bathrooms are small and dated (but useable and clean). This aside, the staff was brilliant, helpful and polite (perhaps they respond to how they are treated!) The food in the restaurants was plentiful and varied. The Italian and Sea Breeze restaurants were a delight to experience. Generally, the resort is one we would have been happy to spend the whole of our holidays in. We will certainly return often to this resort.”

“My family and I holiday's here in August 2008. As far as we can see there are only 2 things wrong with this resort, the air-conditioning in guest rooms is dated and noisy (but works well) and the bathrooms are small and dated (but useable) Having read some poor reviews we were a bit worried but found staff to be extremely polite and helpful (perhaps they respond to how they are treated!). Eating in the Sea Breeze or Italian restaurants was a delight and the general food on offer was nothing to be scoffed at. My eldest son was ill during our stay but we found the complimentary nurse to be absolutely excellent and the doctor efficient, he also had plenty of TV channels to watch while we kept him cool in the air conditioned bedroom. Overall I would recommend this resort to families young and old. I can assure you we will return.”

“I went with a family of 4 a 3 year old and a 16 month old. Upon arrival we just came back from the resort. Upon arrival we got into a small bus and the good part was that the resort was only 10 min from the airport. We signed in to the priority club which was supposed to be faster, but it wasn't. The rooms are very old and not very clean. The food was not good there wasn't really anything to eat for the kids. Both of my kids got sick, I'm not really sure why. The beach is very small, there is very little shade and people, but there towels early so no one else can lay there. The pool was the best thing about the hotel when you don't have so many bigger kids playing in there. Please note that the pool closes at 6. We stayed for 7 days and couldn't wait to get back home.”

• Nothing to do after the band is done if you have kids. The witches disco is not for kids except on their night.

“I enjoyed my time. Its certainly a family resort. My child had a wonderful time, especially in the pool. The food was ok, the breakfast was ok, wanted to try more Jamaican dishes thou. Customer service was immaculate. Although, I had an experience where a guest visited me and sat to have coffee, little did I know you could not just buy a cup of coffee, I was approached by a server who I specifically asked if my guest could have some coffee and I was told yes, apparently, she was not aware that he was not wearing a risk band for food. I was approached by another server who wanted to make a scene about the whole incident; I politely asked where you go to find out about entertaining a guest at breakfast. I was directed to the front desk. I was appalled. I had no problems getting drinks or food from the grill when I needed. The attendees were very pleasant and if you frequent the eateries often its only customary that you would want to leave a tip, b/c they have come to know your Name. We loved the Showtime at night. The band was excellent. The day entertainers were very friendly and knew our Names. However, I found the travel guides to be very expensive.”

• Restaurants have excellent food.
• Buffet, staff (not all), shuttle to and from airport.

“I was very disappointed in this resort. From the moment we got off the airplane, all anyone that work there ever wanted was a tip. I believe this is an inclusive resort but didn't feel like it. The service to get a drink at anytime of the day/night was very slow and found myself going from bar to bar to get one a little faster. If I wanted to sit by the pool and relax it wasn't possible as the entertainment was very loud at all times of the day. I found the food in the buffet to be excellent only in the morning. Lunch and dinner wasn't very appealing. The only good dinners I had while there were at the restaurants. Thank goodness, I have lost in total about 5lbs while there and I was only there for 7 days. I would not recommend anyone without children to go. Overall, I did not enjoy my stay. I would never go there again.”

• I liked all that they had to offer there, the food, entertainment, beach, pool, location.
• They need to work on the bathrooms - grouting, countertops - makes it look dingy.

“Great overall value for the money. Lots of activities for kids. Wonderful pools, lovely beach. Food and drinks were easily available. I liked that they had a separate pool area and beach for the adults to enjoy. Entertainment is provided nightly. (I loved Beach Night - dining, entertainment and a craft fair with local artisans right on the beach). I also liked that they have a disco on the premises. Good food choices at the buffet and the two restaurants. You can kick back, relax and just enjoy the facilities or be adventurous and arrange for travel to off-site attractions on the premises. The rooms were comfortable, all had balconies (they even provide an outside drying rack for beach towels and clothing!). I did, however, feel that the room's bathroom needed attention - routine maintenance would make it look clean and updated.”

• I loved the location, the beaches and the overall facilities (pools, dining). The hotel had nonstop activities for "kids" of all ages.
• They need to update the bathrooms in the guest rooms. Tub, sink and floor needed routine maintenance (grouting, new countertop).

“Overall, my daughter and I had a very pleasant experience. The hotel provided good customer service. Anything you needed or wanted was provided to you. (Off-site and on-site activities). It was picturesque, decor was very nice. Great location from the airport. It made for a very relaxing, worry free vacation. I have already recommended it to friends and family.”

• Not good for older teenagers, water sports very limited

“Excellent family holiday hotel. We recently returned from a February break on an all inclusive basis. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the food is fantastic with an excellent choice of high quality produce. The dining area is vast which you would expect with a hotel with 500 rooms and can be quite noisy at peak times. However there are themed restaurants for a more intimate experience. The hotel is ideal for young families, although not a great number of activities for older teenagers as the water sports are minimal if not non-existent for a modern teenager. This is due in part to the reef that reduces all water based activities to less than 0.5 meters of water in depth. The reef is quite close to the shore. The hotel offers easy access to most areas for those with physical disabilities including wheelchair access. For a one week 'chilling out' beach holiday then this hotel is great, as long as older teenagers realize this. Lastly it is important to point out that Jamaican law prohibits any alcohol being consumed by teenagers less than 18 years old which includes wine with meals. so teenagers from 0-18 years get 'red' wrist bands to identify them, that were not exactly welcomed by my 15 and 17 year olds who considered it very 'un-cool'. We will return but without the older teenagers.”

• The pool grill was open until around 1am; gym nice modern equipment
• At breakfast by the pool every morning the raggae music stops and someone grabs a mic & yells for all the kids to come to the stage for games. Weak alcoholic drinks.

“If you have young children (10 & under) this is a good hotel. Unfortunately our TA did not warn us that we might want to find something more for adults. There were 7 adults in our group and we were tired of the daily activities all catered around children. There was no night life at this hotel for us. With the exception of about 4 staff members, the staff was unfriendly at the hotel bars and the dining area. The food was just ok. We won't return. ”

• Security!!

“All I can say is that this is the best place to stay... outside of the Ritz Carlton. We started our vacation at another hotel and it was absolutely horrible (Foote Prints- in Negril)!!!! When we change to the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay it was like entering the gates of Heaven
