• Marriott Copenhagen had outstanding service and was kept immaculately clean.
• The hotel restaurant was awful.

“Our stay at the Marriott Copenhagen was stellar from start to finish, even for this picky traveler. Easily forgiving rather loud-colored (green) floral carpeting in the room, and a shower that pooled instead of draining completely (perhaps unique to our room), it was a memorable stay. From the views out the window, the trademark comfort and linens, the punctilious service, and the well-appointed business center, to the lavish bathroom with tub and glassed-in shower, the ample self-serve breakfast and the pleasant staff, the experience was solid star-quality. It would have been perfect except for our experience at the hotel's only restaurant (the single option being surprisingly little to choose from, for a Marriott). The wait for a table was almost 15 minutes even though the restaurant seemed empty - the result of an unattended host station, no doubt. We should have known better right then, but without much choice we then had to sit through a menu with poor selection, promising food that just did not match its price when it actually came, and service that failed to deliver at all on multiple promises of more bread, among other things.”

• Nothing.

“Modern in keeping with Danish decor. Discrete with fantastic setting overlooking river on one side and city center on the other. Quiet with incredible beds and bathrooms.”

• Overpriced restaurant, bar, and souvenir store.

“A great value for the money. The nice, friendly staff allowed us to check-in early. It's only a 10 minute walk to the train station and 15 minutes walk to Downtown and the main tourist attractions. The hotel is right on the water and has nice views, and the lobby is attractive and full of a great selection of international newspapers. As for negatives, I can say that the restaurant, bar, and souvenir store are incredibly overpriced. Also, there's nowhere else to eat or shop within less than a 10 minute walk.”

• Wonderful atmosphere.
• Concierge was not up to par.

“Wonderful people and atmosphere. Walking into the lobby was a relaxing moment and I knew I did not have to worry about details. Staff was friendly like last time and remembered our last stay. Concierge was very friendly but not as effective as hoped.”

• It was very clean and the room was of good quality.
• The front desk staff did not know the idea of customer service.

“The front desk staff insisted that I pay $10 to get an internet card to prove to them that I had paid for a free breakfast, and said it was my responsibility to make their records correct. This was blatantly unacceptable and goes against every fiber of customer service. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone for this reason.”

• The staff.
• They charge for everything. Internet should be included for the rates they charge.

“I have stayed at many Marriotts. I have stayed at this one twice. I don't like being nickeled and dimed for every little thing and that is exactly what the do at the Marriot Copenhagen.”

• Very nice people and super atmosphere.
• Nothing in the room decor matched anything else.

“Very nice hotel and we will be going back. I would very gladly recommend the hotel to friends and family. Wonderful atmosphere and I was glad to stay there. However, the rooms should be redecorated with consistency in design in mind.”

• Centrally located hotel with spacious, well appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. Terrific view of the Copenhagen Skyline.
• There was nothing not to like, except the $7 price tag on the coffee - which is average for Copenhagen.

“The hotel is very nicely appointed and very clean with very friendly and helpful staff, recruited from all of Europe, so everyone speaks English. The view over the Skyline from the upper levels is extraordinary (it makes sense to upgrade the room) and the beds are indeed extremely spacious and comfortable. The rooms are very spacious and of typical American design (resort style) with clean and generous bathrooms. The fitness facilities were well equipped and comfortable to use. The hotel is within short walking distance of the Central Railway Station and Tivoli Gardens (i.e. the City Center).”

• Front desk staff and concierge were wonderful, very helpful.
• Dining room staff was very slow, not service oriented.

“We were there over the holidays, the hotel was not full. It was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful except in the dining room. I would be wary of the congestion from cruises in the summer, but it would also be nice to be on the canal then.”

• The reception and the concierge.
• The hotel has a "speak English" policy but half of the staff cannot speak English.

“Great service and acceptable restaurant with slightly old fashioned but very luxurious rooms, Marriott style. The staff has clearly instructions to speak English but half of them cannot make themselves understandable neither speaks Natively. Very good breakfast and friendly staff overall.”

• The 10 pillows on my bed. The beautiful decoration. The colors. The friendly staff.
• I was not sure where to choose my food for my breakfast selection.

“Beautifully decorated in amicable colors with very friendly and helpful staff. Very well situated, near the city center and perfect for combining business meetings and leisure. I have already recommended this hotel to my business partners.”

“Stayed 2 nights pre cruise & 1 night post cruise. All hotel employees treated us very well. Copenhagen is such an expensive city for shopping and dining. We did eat in town at 3 exceptional restaurants so did not try the Marriott's restaurant. Taxis are easy to get at the Marriott for the ride to the pier and the airport. We appreciated being able to use the business centre to check in and print off our boarding passes (at a cost) to use the internet. Very handy. The beds are very comfortable, rooms are large and the bathroom has all the amenities you need.”

• Friendly staff who all spoke excellent English.
• Housekeeping left open the windows in our room. We were on the 7th floor and we complained about the traffic noise, but didn't realize the window was.

“Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Location a bit far from central Copenhagen.”

• Spacious well appointed rooms with air conditioning and fabulous bedding and linens.
• We could not get our room for many hours after our arrival but we arrived very early; 10:30 am. Could have has more local fish choices on its breakfast.

• Convenient to Tivoli and the central train station.
• Surrounding area at night very quiet with empty lots.

• Big hotel rooms and friendly staff.
• Ugly decor (totally unsuitable for any 4 star hotels) and inconvenient location.

“I expected something much nicer. This is a sterile business hotel with lots of space in the rooms, but they honestly couldn't be uglier (everything is red green and orange, nothing is modern). I found the room so ugly that I couldn't bear to spend any time in it.”
