“I spent 3 unforgettable nights in my honeymoon from 20th to 23rd. The view to table mountain and V & A Waterfront is wonderful.”

  • You can't beat the location and staff quite attentive and friendly. Housekeeping service was good.
  • A hotel of this caliber should have a night stand clock and more than 12 options on the in room cable TV.

“I really enjoyed the Commodore though it's really a 4.5 hotel. I stayed in early mid September 2005 and the view of the harbor and Table Mountain was fantastic.

The breakfast buffet, included in the daily rate, is excellent with many choices of food. I found the staff extremely courteous and maybe because of the 8 night stay, many got to know me by name. The wait staff was excellent and in most instances follow up was good. A fresh tray of coffee outside my door timed to coincide with my wake up call was a nice touch.

For the price the Internet service was unusually slow. The health club needs more than one stationary bike and one treadmill for cardio equipment although the attendant was a most pleasant and helpful young woman.

I also found the front desk staff to be very courteous and ditto for the elevator attendants and bellhops. Attention to security is good.”

“I was there Dec 2004 and it was one of the worst hotel experiences ever. Service was terrible, and it was quite expensive. The gym was a joke - no A/C, all the equipment basically broken. The internet access was at a ridiculous cost, everything I asked for to be brought to my room was never done or followed up on, and the radiator leaked in my room and no one bothered to come, despite numerous calls, and so I had to change rooms. I had a meeting with the manager, and they did accommodate somewhat, but it was overall the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel, and it's in an English speaking country, so you would think I could work it out - no such luck. Very disappointing, and I would recommend trying something else, such as the Cape Grace if you need to be in that proximity to the Waterfront”
