“Just got back from the Club Regina and it was horrible. They stole my daughters diabetic meter and jewelry from her bag in our room. The staff was aggressively trying to sell you a condo and after telling them that we already own a timeshare - they still would bother us on the beach and around the condo. The food was awful and the rooms were dirty and smelled like sewer.”

“I don't recommend buying a Timeshare at the Westin Regina Cancun! I am a 14 year timeshare owner at the Westin Regina in Cabo. In December 2008 I changed my week to the Westin Regina in Cancun. My experience in Cancun was horrible on many levels. I was told that the Club Regina was full by the front desk, but later found out that the occupancy was only at 30% and that the management didn't want to make an effort to correct their error. The entire experience was less unacceptable. In contrast I have only had wonderful great experiences at the Westin Regina in Cabo. In addition other problems involved: Being locked out of the room 3 times. Maids not cleaning the room 3 of 7 days. Currency exchange (they couldn't change currency using anything but small bills). Additional fees.”

“The hotel was nice. I liked the design of the rooms, very tall ceilings and very clean looking. The hotel has the best pool/beach area. Multiple pools and many palapas for you to enjoy the shade.”

“Because the hotel is located at the south end of the island, we were the first to be dropped off coming from the airport and last to be picked up before heading back to the airport. Real big plus when using the van taxi service. Access to other attractions such as the ruins are also south of the hotel and, therefore, easier to get to.”

“The location is among the best for all of the hotels in the Cancun hotel zone. It has a very nice wide beach. The service, however, was below par.”

“Nice clean good location but restaurants overpriced n they charge u for every little thing. Not even a free cup of coffee in lobby. I would have to call more than once for any requests as they never did fix fridge in room.”

“Room was a nice size and had a porch, but the bathtub was tiny and did not have a whirlpool. Parking garage was free but very far away from the room. The parking garage has no elevator. Hotel was acceptably clean, but Ive seen well. Staff was friendly but did not speak much English. At times they were slow to respond. Everything cost extra, including the bottled water in the room and the coffee. This should be included, especially at the four star price levels. Ive stayed in Holiday Inns that are nicer than this. Next time in Cancun I will stay at Riu.”

“Very good hotel. Nice rooms if you are upgraded (if not upgraded you do not have balcony, which is bad compared to similar hotels in Cancun).”

“It was a great place & staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Room 1515 was so damp, that our pills were melting. On second part of our stay we had room 1535 & it was better, although we asked for a dehumidifier & it helped. The beaches are raked daily & the place is gorgeous! Thanks.”

“The Westin resort & spa (Cancun) is an older, but still lovely hotel, with multiple pool areas, fronted by a long, wide, white beach, with helpful and friendly staff.”

“Go to Cancun stay at the Westin and your driver should be lionile. He even took me downtown to eat great tacos. The people were great and the beach is perfect. The water was every color blue and the entire people visiting spoke anything but English.”

“It was very nice, on the end of the hotel circuit away from the stores and restaurants. Beach was quiet. Had to take bus transportation to go anywhere or a taxi. Hotel did request us to attend time share meeting but we declined as we were on our honeymoon. They did not ask again. Hotel did move us to another wing away from construction, did not have king sized bed but did have a balcony at new room. Food & drink at hotel were very expensive.”

“It is the 1st hotel in the hotel zone. Buses do not go here, so you have to walk to the 1st stop (a couple of hotels down). If you are looking for a hotel that is very quiet, this is for you. The pool was very old and the water hot. No music at the pool, in fact, no entertainment at all.”

“Avoid the Westin at all costs. The rooms are horrible. The rooms stink with a musty smell and the air conditioner is super loud so it is hard to sleep. Also, the facilities are limited. But the hotel staff is nice though.”

“This hotel is beautiful and the location is at the beginning of the strip closest to the airport. It is the first stop by the Gray Line van service--and the last upon returning. The staff is accommodating and friendly. However, the hotel prices are extremely high. You will need to take a bus into town for food. The food is mediocre--again $15 for a cheeseburger and fries. It is nice in that there isn't a crowd at the hotel like most of the all inclusive resorts. It's the price you pay for the luxury and peace and quiet. The pool is beautiful. I did not see many patios on the rooms--they may only be on the first and top floor. I had a ground floor overlooking a garden. It was nice even though it didn't face the beach. Remember to take coffee with you! After the first day, you pay $4 per single hotel pack.”
