“We went on last week in November 2006. to be honest worst holiday ever been on, hotel very drab, and zero atmosphere. Room was not nice, rusty bedside lampshade, and room door just about hanging on to its hinges. The food was drab, and hot stuff often was cold, and presentation was horrible, as in trays suspended in (hot?) water, and seemed to be same stale stuff everyday. Very dull. Like worst school dinner nightmare but worse. the bar served rubbish in thimble sized plastic cups, I noticed pool cleaned every morning, the staff were okay, not their fault its managed badly. Walk along the beach alongside some of the other hotels, and it makes holiday worse, because full of holiday makers happy, so my tip is do not go below 5 star in Cancun, if club carousel is the norm for lower star rating hotels. All in all staff okay, hotel absolute rubbish.”

“We went to Club Carrousel in June of 2004. Our room was disgusting! There was dried vomit on the side of one of the beds, dirty Q-tips under the nightstand, and bugs crawling everywhere. Everything was dirty, and you didn't want to touch anything. We would have to move beds (we had two in our room) in the middle of the night because we were getting bit. We were told that bottled water would be provided and that we would have a refrigerator in our room. Neither of these were true. There was no elevator so we had to carry tiny glasses of water from the lobby's water jug just to be able to brush our teeth or have a drink. The maids took our towels and did not replace them. We went to the lobby and asked for new. He walked into the back room, looked around, and said "No towels here." Thank God we brought beach towels because we never got new ones! The people in the lobby were very rude! They weren't helpful and did nothing to make you feel at home. Basically our honeymoon consisted of sitting in the room and watching Sponge Bob in Spanish. Our trip was horrible, and staying at that hotel has made me never want to leave the United States!”

“We had a room on the 5th floor and there is NO elevator, also your key is actually a key on a piece of yarn so you don't lose it. The room is warm and there is NO refrigerator or ice machine so you have to buy your drinks for your room from the gift shop. Your choices are beer from a 40 oz bottle or 6 frozen drinks made with rum and some crap flavored liquor no bourbon, whiskey, vodka etc. The food is horrible, one morning they had cut up hot dogs on their breakfast bar. DONT go snorkeling because you actually will use the same mask that a person just used thats mask and mouth piece. The best meal we had was Dominos pizza that we ordered. The beach is actually a inlet next to a dock and the sand is covered in moss, the guy on the microphone will drive you nuts he is SO annoying. PLEASE stay away from this place the worst part is when you have to pass all the really nice places and then you see this place. Spend the extra money the sad part we won this trip and we were ready to go home a day early. ”
