• Located on the Hotel zone in Cancun's best beach area. Hotel was situated right on the beach. Has a better beach than adjacent, more expensive hotel
• Absolutely nothing.

“My wife and I were defenitely impressed with the hotel's staff, location and most importantly, the beach. This hotel has the nicest beach compared to the more expensive, adjacent hotels. Moreover, the hotel staff is in a very safe location that is constantly monitored by security personnel. In my opinion, it is the best hotel that I ever stayed in for the money and location. Hotel also offers a fridge, a small kitchen and comfortable beds.”

• The grounds were beautiful. The location great.

“Beautiful location. You can get a great room with a wonderful view only, but you have to get lucky. My cousin ended up with an awesome room, but our room did not have near the view he had even though I ended up paying more than he did for the room.”

• The Beach was fabulous.
• Would have been nice to have more satellite channels.

• Best beach in the area. Staff was wonderful!
• I liked everything!

“This hotel was fabulous for families w/ small children. The kid's club was ideal and located in a safe fenced area near the pool and ocean. Kids could go back and forth as they pleased. Room was not luxurious, but better, because it was so homey and comfortable. Extremely clean and well run. Hotel staff was so friendly and accommodating.”

• The waiters, bartenders and the look of the place are nice.
• Loud slamming wooden hotel doors, loud corridors, and loud traffic on street side.

“The room on the street side was horrible. The traffic noise was so loud at night time with taxis honking horns all night even at 4am, and cars with broken mufflers, that I got no sleep and ruined my next morning to do anything. I asked to have my room moved and they moved me to another room. That night no sleep again due to the loud hallways that are made of tile and everything echoes. On top of that the maintenance guys decided to tear up the tile next to my door on the 2nd floor stairs at 6:55am Saturday morning! I wouldn't stay here again unless my room was free. The rooms are decent size but my shower head would not adjust and constantly sprayed out of the shower onto the floor in front of the sink. I think they gave me the worst room possible even though I traveled there in the slowest part of the season.”

• Location, cleanliness, not crowned, not glitzy.
• No elevators so if on 4th floor, you have to schlep.

“Rented a basic studio room on second floor. Large enclosed privacy balcony. Thick, very big body sheet bath towels, extremely clean. Beach wide, no waves at all, plenty of shade for all from palapas and palm trees and not crowded unlike nearby larger hotels. Large basic pool with plenty of chaise lounges. Very nice small beachfront bar/restaurant. This property is right next door to a brand new high-rise exclusive expensive condo which was virtually unoccupied. The Ambiance condos are no more than four stories. Like a small village. Internet available in lobby only, not in any rooms. Huge selection at American breakfast; the service slow because not enough waiters/bussers. It's Mexico and you're on vacation, so chill. Absolutely will return again. Fantastic find.”

• Great little Palapa grill.
• Problems rebooking hotel.

“The hotel is conveniently located on KM 9. There are lots of services across the blvd. The room is clean and quiet with a terrace. There is a laundry. Breakfast is good and included. It also has the best beach on the strip.”

• The best beach in Cancun and large rooms.
• Outdated decor, and room was in a bad location of hotel food and service was very average.

“The hotel location is on the best beach in Cancun, and the rooms are spacious. We had a third person, who had to sleep on the sofa couch, and we were charged an extra $35 per night, but that also included breakfast, which was fair. Our corner was very drafty, and the wind made all the doors rattle all night long. But the beautiful beach made up for it.”

• Friendly bartenders, waiters, location.
• Street noise, thin wooden doors that slam all night.

“This hotel is in a great location. Problem is when they give you a standard room, most of the time it is facing the traffic and street. The sliding glass doors are so old and single paned glass, that you will not sleep at all. The taxis honk their horns at 4am and cars with no mufflers go by and will wake you up. If you stay here ask for a room near the pool. Problem is I did this and they told me they were sold out. BS they were. I checked on the website from the hotel and looked around and there were plenty available. They finally moved my room the next day, and my Saturday was now shot as the desk person had me come back every hour to check until near 2pm for another room. If you can believe this, the Saturday night sleep was worse than the Fridays. At 7am, yes 7am, on a Sunday, the maintenance guys were jack hammering replacing tile on the stairs which were directly in front of my room on the 2nd floor and woke me up again. I had 0 sleep my whole time I was there and ruined my so called weekend vacation. The hallways are so noisy because of the tile, that when people even talk, it carries into your rooms because of the thin doors. Drunks were out till 3am at a 50 year olds birthday party that night and of course they had 0 respect for paying guests, screaming bimbos with their "yeeeeeeeaaas" all night in hallways. I wouldnt recommend it except for the fact that I believe I am being comped a weekend there because of the email I sent them showing my dissatisfaction. It states a family oriented resort but when I was there in Jan it was more of a wedding/birthday hotel where you will not get any relaxation at night time.”

“This hotel has excellent customer service, but very limited food choices at the restaurants. Beach is exceptional and if you want a wonderful beach vacation and aren't too picky about older rooms, you will love this hotel. Free wireless internet in the lobby is also a huge bonus!”

• Everything.
• Breakfast buffet wasnt really good at all. The buffet was the only option.

“Perfect location. Perfect beach. Huge rooms. Great grill/bar on beach. Public bus stop right in front of the hotel. Rooms and grounds very clean and spacious. I cant wait to go back. Not a fancy hotel but I wasnt there for the room I was there for the beach, friendly bartenders and waiters. Way better than the big chain hotels.”

• The rooms are not standardized. First night experience should never have happened.

“The standard room that I purchased was cheap and deficient. The air conditioner could only be switched on or off by the circuit breaker. The noise was extremely loud so no sleep was to be had the first night. The fridge needed to be fiddled with to stay closed I complained and asked for a room in working order and was given one with a new air conditioner and a fully functional refrigerator. I was very satisfied. Note that note remote is provided for a standard room. There was no hairdryer and the towels were very thin. Would I stay again yes, in a functional room; I would take my own towel. The locate is perfect if you are scuba diving at papa hogs next door, paid certified, operated by a Canadian couple.”

• The bell boy, counter staffs and the representative for the local tours are very friendly and professional. The villa style provides bigger space area.
• It only has one beach cafe restaurant with limited food selection. Fish crevice was very good!

“Very good place to relax. Better than 4 or 5 stars hotels. With group/family travel is ideal too.”

“This hotel is highly recommended for families with young children. It was very low key and relaxing. The suite was clean, large and with a breath taking viewing of the beach. Very good value for the money.”

• The staff was very friendly and the grounds were impeccable.
• Linen quality was poor and the showers had lukewarm water.

“Overall, I felt this hotel was a good value. It's in an excellent location, the grounds are impeccable, and the staff was very friendly. The beach is superb also. My only complaint is that the bath towels and linens were very poor quality and the shower didn't really have hot water. Shower also tended to leak water on the bathroom floor. If they just upgraded their bathrooms a bit.”
