“The staff, when we entered, was warm and welcoming. The room and the bathroom were immaculate. The restaurant, which was in the next building, was outstanding and the service perfect. We would definitely stay here again and will not hesitate to recommend it to friends.”

• It was clean, in a great location and not very expensive.
• To eat breakfast in the hotel was too expensive for what was given in the buffet.

• The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful.
• Unable to get a single queen bed.

“The hotel is in a great location, although it can be very noisy at night, loud, intoxicated people leaving nearby bars, garbage trucks (which come every single night) and construction at the cathedral, which occurred during the wee hours of the morning. Still, the place is very clean and the staff terrific.”

• This hotel had a very elegant feel.
• I wish that the hotel had a better restaurant, although many restaurants nearby.

“This hotel looks very nice in the lobby. The hotel staff is friendly and speaks great English. The hotel is located in one of the best parts for tourists in Barcelona (Barri Gotic).”

• Tastefully decorated. Excellent location. Great value.
• One of the front reception guys was rude (victor). Noise could be heard from the streets below.

“As mentioned in all the above comments and ratings, we found the regencies colon hotel to be an overall excellent value and at one of the very best locations of Barcelona. (The sister hotel which is the 4 star hotel colon is located across the street. In fact, the towels and toiletries all had the 4 star sister hotel printed on everything!) We were a group of 4 people who stayed in 2 rooms for 2 nights (December 2007) for a post cruise tour. Both rooms were located on the 5th floor and our bedroom windows had little balconies.”

• Very friendly staff superb location.
• The internet was not available as expected.

“I had to go next door to the sister hotel to use the wireless internet. Even then it worked sporadically. I didnt bring my laptop to Europe for sporadic access! Other than that, nice, nice people at the desk. The location is perfect- not noisy, near two main metro stops, and right behind the cathedral of Santa creu.”

• Large room compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Europe.
• The breakfast was 10 euros and definitely not worth that.

“This hotel was in a good location walking distance from everything. It was close to the train station and metro stops. The staff spoke very good English and was helpful in recommending places to eat and see while in Barcelona.”
