Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Well-appointed room with good amenities. Excellent location. Helpful staff.
  • The room was small and internet was over-priced.

“The location and ambience of the Hotel Intercontinental Vienna are decidedly upscale and welcoming. The location is excellent. My partner and teenaged children liked the hotel very much. We thought that the rooms were rather small but they were well-appointed. Firm beds and good toiletries made our stay a positive experience. The water pressure and plumbling in the bathroom were exceptionally fine; there were separate controls for the bath tub water, hand-held shower and the showerhead, as well as for temperature. Our stay was enjoyable and we would stay at this hotel again. The use of the internet should be complementary.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[4] • Location:[10]

  • Wonderful food, nice public spaces.
  • Tiny rooms, inflexible staff.

“Old fashioned European hotel, tiny rooms, and formal staff. Great food in restaurant, especially breakfast, but expensive. Would not recommend for families, since there is smoking in public areas and no pool.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Service at all turns, luxurious room w/ great view.
  • Smokey lobby, bar and café.

“Wonderful experience. Smokey bar and cafe drove us in to restaurant for a drink where we encountered one rude waiter. Food awesome. Room exceeded all expectations. Would go to the Inter @ Vienna again in a heartbeat.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Easy connection to airport, nice fitness center.
  • Nothing to justify 5 star rating.

“This is a truly lovely hotel. However, there was nothing in the hotel or the room to distinguish it from any 4 star Marriott. I ever stayed in; hence I don't think it justifies the extra expense involved.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • The price and the location to the metro.
  • No free wireless in lobby or room.

“This was the smallest room I had on our four city tour of Europe. But it was good enough size and the view was nice. I wish they had free wireless in room or public areas for looking up tour information and etc. The prices for a drink in the bar were high we did not enjoy a night cap. The location is great for a quality room in Vienna. We enjoyed the walk to the city center. We like the fact that the metro is right across the street. The staff was very friendly, very helpful.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Impeccable attn to detail.
  • Gym equipment is a bit dated.

“This is one of the best hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had in our lives. The hotel was beautiful, the service was top-notch, the location was fantastic. The Concierge was very friendly, helpful, and resourceful. We told the front desk at check-in that we were on our honeymoon; they upgraded us to a high floor with a view of Stadt Park, and even sent up Champagne and dessert on the house as a nice surprise. Room service was very good as well. We will absolutely stay here again!”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Great location, wonderful staff, and great service.
  • Nothing.

“The Intercontinental Wien upholds the great reputation of the Intercontinental brand. The hotel is in a very good location, right across the street from the city park and within a few minutes walk from the city center. The staffs were very friendly and met my every need. The rooms were modern, very clean, and had a very comfortable feel to them.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Friendly staff.
  • Smokey, old and run down, not 5-star!

“I don't care if Richard Burton stayed here; the hotel hasn't upgraded much since he was here with Liz 40 years ago!”

“After staying in the Intercontinental in Prague this room was a step down.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[5]

  • The beds were comfortable.
  • Rooms were small (even for Europe).

“The hotel lobby is very nice. The concierge was extremely helpful. Bathrooms are clean and pretty large. The bedroom is extremely small even for Europe and especially for a "5 star." The location is about a 15 minute walk to the shopping district and would be a taxi ride away from the nightlife and train station.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • Location was close to city center.
  • Great location for the money, but in need of a remodel. Looks like a mid 70's building.

“Good location, parking is expensive but far for the course in major European city. 70's to early 80's style without major remodel.”

  • The breakfast buffet had an astonishing variety of food.
  • What? No bagels? Who has four kinds of smoked fish at a breakfast buffet but no bagels?

“The staff was so courteous and friendly at all levels, I definitely felt like I was in a high class five star hotel.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Excellent location opposite park and metro station.
  • No complaints.

“We would have been extremely pleased with all aspects of this hotel even if they had not volunteered to give us a room upgrade (to the club floor) because their staff had not yet cleaned our intended room. Concierge service was excellent. Free newspapers and fruit.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • The staff was very friendly.
  • The hotel was kept too hot and there was no ice machine.

“The hotel intercontinental is a European luxury hotel, but by American standards would rate equally to a Hampton inn with a fancy lobby. The smoking in the lobby is disgusting, but that is true for any hotel in Europe.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Perfect service; very clean; great location.
  • Small room & bathroom, but that's Europe.

“We were extremely pleased w/the intercontinental. After a variety of countries & adventures, it was very refreshing to have excellent staff actually address your concerns (in English) & respond to them promptly & well. This is a perfect business travel hotel, and I would gladly stay there again. Thank you.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Staff was excellent.
  • Small rooms, beat up wall in mine. A/c did not work. Slept with window open.

“The staff at the hotel was very friendly and efficient. The common areas are very nice. The rooms are very small. The bathrooms are so small two people can not get ready at the same time. The a/c in our room did not work at all. They turned the thermostat down and said that would fix the problem but it did not. The walls had marks on them from being hit by suitcases. It is definitely a tourist hotel. Many tour buses come and go all day. It is not a five star property any longer.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • The hotel had a nice bar.
  • The hotel wreaked of smoke and the room was TINY.

“For a 5star hotel I was expecting a lot more out of the rooms. The first room was a smoking room even though I had confirmed non-smoking and it smelled awful. The hotel moved us, but like the first room it was tiny. A queen bed with about 4 feet of room around it, maybe a little more. Disappointing!”
