“We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The breckfast was nice although they did not deliver our morning paper that we requested. The downside was that the corridors did have a smell of smoke on occasion but on the whole we enjoyed our stay and would return again.”

“Windows rattled all night long. Dining room was being redecorated and smelled of paint.Evening meal was well presented but devoid of taste.

“it was quite alot of money for what you got, and the food in the restaurant was so expensive for what it was.”

“My room, a single, had a small desk but I had to ask for a chair. The room rate was the same as I paid for a much larger room in Manchester the previous weekend, perhaps because of the half term holiday. Everyone was very nice, eager to help, but the building limits what can be done.”

“The staff at the Blue Bridge Hotel were efficient and friendly. The room was pleasant and clean, and there was a good supply of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Good bathroom facilities.”

“hotel was in easy walking distance to city centre. the hotel itself was clean and nicely decorated. our rom was on the small side,(attic room)but was perfect for 1 night. cellar bar wasn't open so not sure what that's like. breakfast was lovely and cooked exactly as we asked.

“I booked via the internet (for a party of four adults) which indicated only one double room and a superior room available for the period we wanted. In reality we found out later that a second double room was in fact available which would have been adequate for our needs. The superior room does not live up to it's name. It is annexed from the main building thereby giving a feeling of isolation from the hotel.Whilst having your own front door may appeal to some in a hotel setting we found it made the room cold and a feeling of insecurity. We found the thin blankets on the bed inadequate and dated. Surely in 2004 duvet's are a better option. The bathroon had a clear glass window,(necessitating the blind being permanently closed),which I found amazing given that it is on the ground floor and faces a road. Finally, a little more attention to maintenance issues wouldn't go amiss e.g toilet seat very loose, light above shaving mirror not working and an extractor fan which sounds as loud as an aeroplane. The added disadvantage with the latter is that it linked to the light switch and continues to run for several minutes after the light is switched off. Needless to say you make a conscious decision to use the toilet in the dark through the night rather than suffer the noise of the extractor fan.”

“Room was very clean and well stocked (tea, coffee, hot choc, biscuits) plus hair drier, good ensuite. Breakfast was excellent - good choice. Good parking and close to main York attractions.”

“we were both happy with what this hotel had to offer for the price we paid to stay the one night and especially with the accommodation situated in easy reach of all major attractions.” Hotel Representatives:
