“the hotel was ideally situated for our visit to the theatre, we were grateful for a parking space. ( our friends who didn't stay over had great trouble parking) It was loverly to be able to throw open a window in our room. (many hotels seem to be hermetic”

“Internal decor is past best and looks tired. Room was ok but bathroom very small and cold. good central location for tourists and ideal location for the Fossgate where good restuarants are located.”

“The hotel was undergoing renovation and re-decoration. We had to be careful to avoid the wet paint. The heating was hot and could not be adjusted in my room. There is no lift in the hotel and there are quite a few stairs up to most of the bedrooms.

“There was work and extensive hammering going on, until sharp 10 pm. If the refurbishing is done, it will be a lot quiter.”

“The hotel wasn't a bad place. It just looked a bit tired. The wallpaper was coming off in the bathroom and the shower really wasn't up to much. Also when the extractor was on in the morning, you could smell the food cooking in the kitchen. Overall I've no complaints about the cleanliness, food, politeness of the staff or location. Looking back, I'm not sure it was worth '150 for 2 nights.”

“Both my partner and I felt that the hotel was not as clean as it could have been, we therefore left after only one night (we were booked for 2). We also felt that we should have been told that there was no shower, only an old hand shower to fit onto the sink taps that was black with mould. To cap this our car was blocked in in the car park so that we had to delay our departure by an hour.”

“situated right in the city centre close too everything that is going on yet quiet and comfortable. Excellent breakfast served every morning but no restaurant for evening dining.”
