“Ideal location for many trips in the area. Very good rooms. Attractive hotel building obviously recently renovated. Easy access to town and shops. No problem in recommending this hotel at Solihull to others.”

“At reception they had no details of our stay but resolved this quickly. Our first allocated non-smoking room smelt of smokers so asked for a change which again was dealt with quickly and efficiently. There were a party of children (aged about 10 to 12) who were running around the corridor, knocking on each others doors and shouting. We had a couple of telephone messages from these children but when we complained this was dealt with.
The biggest complaint about this hotel is the breakfast that was only luke warm and apparently after talking to another guest was the same every morning unless you were down to eat at 6.30 when breakfat was hot but only half of it was available.”

“The standard rooms are well below standard and are hugely over priced for what they are. The rooms a spacious but dark, unkept and not particularly clean. The double bed was very small and uncomfortable. The pillows were hard. The bathroom was unclean. When I complained, I was moved to another standard room. It was in the the same state of disrepair. Mouldy bathroom, broken toilet roll holders, rusty shower rail, plain, and unclean. I will never stay there again.
The food however, was lovely.”

“Good location of Hotel - upgraded room very good, Breakfast very good, but no a la Carte menu available from the resaurant, only Table d'hote which didn't suit. Policy of not guaranteeing a non-smoking room after one has been requested is very poor, and means that if this policy is upheld, I cannot book with you again.”

“As we were only stopping one night the hotlel was ok but if I had to stop any longer you would tend to feel that you were stopping in a older hotel the needed refurbishment apart from the reception and bar.”

“The hotel was clearly very busy due to Good Food Show and this was apparent during breakfast where NONE of the staff seemed to be able to cope. The tables were dirty and the cooked food was swimming in fat and generally under-cooked.
The Bathrooms lacked the usual complimentary toiletries.
The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The hotel's strength is it's location near the town centre.”

“Excellent location opposite a lively restaurant and shopping centre.
Particularly enjoyed the room, spaceous and comfortable, although due for some refurbishment, I would ceryainly ask for that room again. The Health suite was excellent and we enjoyed our time there.
Food was excellent but the dining room was totally let down by non existent management, going in for breakfast being a haphazard affair, no-one to even check we were actually staying in the hotel, and this was the same for the two days. Had to actually stop one of the waitresses to ask for coffee on the first day and on the second was told it's on the table in the corner help yourself. It was necessary to try several of the four jugs until the one with coffee in was found as none were marked, I saw several people doing this.”
