“I stayed at the Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel in Malta and was expecting a 4 star hotel as advertised. I was very disappointed with the hotel. The room was small and disappointing. The mattresses are very old, thin and uncomfortable and could feel the coils sticking in my back. The bed covers and sheets were old, dusty and warn out. The room had a 13' TV with no remote and very poor picture. The bathroom floor had broken tiles with mildew in between the tiles and cracks. The carpet was dirty and warn out with strings sticking out in some areas. The balcony sliding door did not lock and leaked in water when it rained outside. Overall, the entire room with all its furniture was very old and warn out. The only decent thing was the location as it is close to shopping and dining areas. This hotel may have been a 4 star hotel thirty years ago. I would give it a 2 star rating, definitely not more. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Pay a little bit more and stay at a decent hotel. Enjoy your stay in Malta!”

The hotel is situated close and within walking distance to the shopping and dining areas of St. Julian's and Slema. You only need to cross the street to be on the sea side. This hotel may have been a 4 star hotel thirty years ago. I would give it a 2 star rating, definitely not more. My advice is to pay a little bit more and stays at a more decent hotel. Enjoy your stay in Malta!” Hotel Representatives:
