• Close to airport & rental car places.
• Bed bugs.

“My wife and I stayed at the Airport Hampton Inn on our final night in Costa Rica - we had just come back from Nicoya and had an early morning flight out of San Jose the next morning. My wife was itching all night. We assumed she was having some kind of reaction to the detergent they cleaned the sheets with. It turns out the room was filled with bed bugs, and we brought them back with us to New Jersey. Until a dermatologist and an exterminator confirmed the source of my wife's continuing bites, I wasn't convinced. Now, we've spent upwards of $1000 on this ridiculous problem. If you have to stay at this nasty hotel, my advice would be to check the bed very carefully, keep your luggage closed and off the floor, don't put any clothing on the carpet, change your clothes before entering your house when you get home, and either toss your clothes or wash everything in 120 degree F water before unpacking. ”

• Slightly Expensive for Costa Rica

“This is a great gateway into or out of San Jose. The location is right by the airport and a shuttle runs every 15 minutes. Six rental car agencies are by the hotel so it is veryy convienant to pick or return your car. The hotel is very clean and modern. The staff assures your satisfaction. The breakfast is veryu good and included in the price. A nice variety of food, too. Since check out time is 2 p.m. , you can use it to catch an early evening flight. Plus free internet access keeps you in touch”
