Full of history, Henry VIII's son was born there in 1524 to Mary Boleyn, the building commands an imposing view over the surrounding countryside. If you are lucky, you may also meet our resident ghost.The present owner purchased the building in 1972 and after two-and-a-half years of careful restoration opened it as a hotel and restaurant in May 1974.The rooms vary in size and decor, some have four-poster bed and although all are en-suite, the character of the rooms in the main building has been retained.The head chef has deservedly been awarded AA Rosettes for the last three years in recognition of the quality and variety of his food and the table d'hote three-course menu, changed daily, is excellent value at only #16.95.
