“The entrance is odd in a plain building on the corner of via pave. There is a plaque on the wall in front that says the hotel's name. Press the button and they buzz you in. It is only one flight up to the hotel, and there is an elevator but we didn't want to wait for it. Someone is always at the front desk from what I could tell. The employees are very helpful and polite. All of them speak English (some better than others). The hotel is located right on the edge of city of Rome and not in a very touristy part. There is a tobacco shop across the street (you need to buy bus tickets there) and a newsstand across from that (if you buy bus tickets get a map of the bus stops here). There are several good restaurants within the area (again it is not as touristy so the amount of English spoken varies greatly and the patience does as well). There is a bus stop across the street that takes you to termini station where you can catch most bus routes and if you get a handle on the map other stops nearby take you to major attractions but they don't list them as stop for Trevi fountain. The stops are shown by the street they let off on. The rooms are a good size and are comfortable. The street outside is noisy but miraculously the windows kept 98% of the noise out. The air conditioning didn't work the first night but as soon as we told them, they had someone on it and it was fixed within a couple of hours and the rest of our stay was great. Breakfast is served when you request it. They come to your room with a tray, and you eat at the small table in the room. Breakfast consisted of a croissant, a crusty roll, yogurt, juice, tea or coffee, and some Italian toast in a little package that was like a big crouton, very crunchy. Butter and jelly etc are also on the tray. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to stay somewhere nice, clean, hospitable and reasonably priced.”

“Don't let the outside appearance of the building or the area fool you. This place is first class all the way, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The only hitch is you have to be prepared for a hard to find hotel, on the 2nd floor of a typical Rome building. The hotel is poorly marked. Beyond that it is the best property at a very reasonable price. The staff is wonderful!. This place deserves a five star rating. I can't say enough about the people and the hotel. People who have rated it poorly because they couldn't find it, or the initial building entrance wasn't like the Waldorf. Clearly these people have not been to Rome. Rome is Rome, and they do not clutter their streets with glitzy sign age. Instead this property is marked with a small metal plaque like all other Rome businesses located in centuries old buildings.. If you find it, and you will you'll discover the best kept secret in Rome hotels. ”
