“In October 07 for a week on a business visit. Initial impressions were good, and I had high expectations. The check in process was quick and efficient and general ambience was excellent. Parking was ample when we arrived and the hotel was well presented. Location is remote but not that difficult to find. The rooms (double) were in superb condition, plenty of space and immaculately clean. The marble bathroom were especially impressive and you have good amenities such as trouser press/iron/wardrobe. Very small gym and not very user friendly. There is a spacious bar within the hotel but lacks any atmosphere, could do with a TV or light music although the seating is highly comfortable. The restaurant was a huge disappointment, more for the poor service than the food, which led us to waiting an hour to be seated then longer for the food. During an hour to be seated half the area was empty! The food itself is decent but nothing to get your taste buds excited. Breakfast has a good choice of menu and service is a lot better here than in the evenings. The remote location does mean you cannot walk anywhere however the adjoining pub can be a good change to the hotel. There is wireless internet although a bit pricey. Overall as many positives as negatives. More ideal for business travellers than anyone else.”
