“While the location is great, it is mostly for business travelers as there is nothing open at night time. The room were small, with very old linings, and dull furniture. It does not deserve the 5 star ratings. The 3 star boutique hotels in the area were much better and included free WiFi. I would not recommend this hotel for romantic and leisure stay, but would recommend for a business visit.”

“We ended our trip to Spain with two nights at the intercontinental. This was a luxurious splurge for us. The location was perfect for us, as it was near our daughter's apartment, close to the metro and a short taxi ride from many of the key Madrid attractions.”

“The Intercontinental was beautiful. Our room was very nice, however rather than a king bed we had two singles that were pushed together with a rather large gap between the two beds that no amount of pushing together could get rid of, the hotel is reasonably near the metro which makes up for its not being quite within walking distance of the major Madrid attractions. Beware the exorbitant minibar prices and the very pricey restaurant. The concierge was very helpful as well. Upon returning home, some confusion over our bill has arisen, but customer care is very helpful and I expect a positive resolution.”

“I liked and enjoyed my stay but the rate is expensive compared to other options available.”

“First the (few) negatives from my point of view: location - slightly distant from everything a tourist would want to see and do the bed - it was so hard, it nearly broke my (already troubled) back (my girlfriend, on the other hand, loved it). Room - smallish, slightly cramped apart from these minor niggles, everything was close to perfect. The hotel is an impressive sight; it feels really good to arrive in a place like this. The room was beautiful, and the bathroom was magnificent. It was very quiet, not a sound of noise from outside the room. Room service was fast and efficient. The concierge desk was very helpful. I think I might choose intercontinental next time Iżm in Madrid, hoping that my back will have improved by then.”

“Beautiful hotel that seems to cater to the business traveler. Not as centrally located to tourist attractions but still convenient as the metro and buses are about a block away. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu selections for room services and the bar are quite expensive though.”
