“The hotel has a great location, close to Hyde Park, and shopping and dining. However, the staff does not seem to know what they are doing, and I am still waiting to see if they charged me anything extra. A very confusing check out. This hotel at best should be rated 3 stars. I would never select this hotel.”

“The expected conveniences are available, but, in our case, the double bed had one side against the wall, which made getting in and out for one of us a chore. I guess one could say it is the most elegant, air conditioned shoebox money can buy. It is very convenient to the Tube and to Hyde Park, and if you need a quick meal, to McDonalds or KFC.”

“Perfect location and fancy interior. Unfortunately a lot of the rooms are in another building so you never get to enjoy the fancy interior. The rooms are very small compared to the price.”

“The lobby makes you think that you are walking into a five star hotel. Unfortunately, once we got to the room it was quite small, the bed was very low, and the television only had a few channels. They wanted over 5 pounds per hour for Wi-Fi access, which I felt should have been included because it was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in lower star hotels and they almost always offered Wi-Fi for free, at least in the common areas. It has excellent proximity to the train station (Marble Arch) and was very convenient to everything, and very clean, but I was a bit disappointed as it was supposed to be 4star.”

“Horrible run down hotel where nothing works and the staff could care less.”

“Everything in the room was modern and new. Great location right off of oxford street. I can't say a thing bad about it I would stay there again in a heartbeat.”

“This was a nice hotel with a reasonable price for it's location in London directly on a tube stop. The front desk staff was friendly when we checked in; since I was there with my mother in law, I requested to stay in a room with 2 rooms. They were unable to accommodate my request, but did move us to a room with a larger bed. Despite our initial good impression, we did have a bad experience with the hotel service and maintenance. We were stuck in the elevator for over 10 minutes with a few others guests. The elevator phone did not work well, and the operator who answered failed to keep us updated or give us any information. After the doors were opened, no one from the hotel staff even acknowledged the fact that we had been trapped in the elevator, much less apologize for the experience or offer to compensate us for our inconvenience.”

“Lobby great. Room clean, well-sized. Air conditioner didn't work, however. Also, the bathroom was poorly designed, so that when you shower water goes all over the floor (there is no curtain, only a partition half-way down the bathtub). The design of the sink leads to water pooling on the stand - it was very rusty there.”

“The hotel seems to be a very big and old hotel that has been recycled. The rooms are quite little (I stayed in a single room) but comfortable, modern and well organized. The service is good, my TV didn't work and they do everything to solve the problem. The location is great.”

“The hotel was nice, clean, and the staff was excellent. The beds were double beds, not good if you're used to a queen or king. Location was excellent. Located next to Marble Arch Tube Station so getting anywhere was easy. Catching a cab was easy too. The staff could rate as 5 star! One bad thing was that our TV did not work and they could not fix it. We were not there to watch TV but it would have been nice.”

“The scent of the air in the lobby was incredibly inviting (almost like subtle cologne). Our room was easy to find and was very well organized. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds Ive ever slept in and the water pressure in the restroom (sink and shower) was excellent. I loved the plasma screen TV!”

“The location is fabulous but we were generally unimpressed with the size of our room for the price we were paying. The hotel had a lot of services available but we didn't use them during our short stay. I thought that the perfume that the cleaners use for the room was a little too much and the AC in our room didn't blow cold air. I wouldn't stay here again because it seems like we could get more for our money somewhere else.”

“This hotel has the coldest decor I've ever seen. No warmth whatsoever. The double bed and even the pillows were uncomfortable. Bed was against the wall, so one person had to climb over the other to get up at times. Very cramped room. TV wires connected via big ragged hole in wall. Very nice bathroom, but skimped on towels till we requested more.”

“It is very convenient for shopping and transportation. However, feel a bit unsafe at night. Air-conditioning is very noisy.”

“This hotel is in a great location for the first time location visitor. The underground station is just around the corner. The hotel is terrific also for shoppers being right at Street for terrific shopping. The rooms are small, which wasn't a surprise, but are all recently renovated complete with flat screen televisions.” Amenities at The Cumberland, London
