“The hotel was old, small and offered very limited services. I would not recommend it.”

“Very friendly staff, by London standards the room was enormous and very comfortable.”

“The worst hotel I have ever stayed in and very expensive for what it is ! It's definitively not a 4 star hotel. Dirty and pierced curtains, toilets broken, wall papers falling down, mattress with a huge hollow and the breakfast room is most like a gloomy canteen. it's really improper !staff is not very friendly when you need something and the location is moderate : you're only near the British museum. You have to take the bus for every thing else, even if you want to eat well. you waste a lot of time. ”

“This is not a 4-star hotel. The mattress on each twin bed was lumpy. There was only one electrical outlet in the bathroom and none in the bedroom. The bathroom outlet (even using an adapter) would not work with our American shaver. The in-room safe was broken and had to be replaced (which it was very quickly). On the fourth floor there is duct tape holding the hall carpet seams together. Just take a look on tripadvisor.com for reviews of this hotel. The outside of the building is in need of power washing. The bricks and mortar are filled with grime and soot. It is a sad looking building. Right now, I am saying to myself that I would not use your service again. I feel we were ripped off. Bad press for you because I will post this information on tripadvisor.com.”

“This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. 2 stars would be pushing it, very bizarre.”

“The staff at Thistle Blooms bury told me that they are "not a four star hotel." It is a tired and worn out hotel with dirty carpets and threadbare furniture. ”

“This hotel was very nice- I would stay there again and recommend it to friends. As a guy traveling with a girlfriend and eating foreign food, I enjoyed the clean and spacious lobby bathroom. The staff was also very friendly and courteous. Top notch!”

“The price was right, however the service was not. My central air was not working. I got the feeling that this was fairly normal.”

“This hotel pulls a "bait and switch" scam to try and get you to upgrade from the "standard" room they assign you. The standard rooms are beyond nasty and have no air-conditioning. The "deluxe" rooms are okay. This hotel's standard rooms are a two star hotel at best, and the deluxe rooms are three stars at best. I stay 290 days a year in hotels. This is the worst hands down this year. Avoid.”

“The rooms were adequate, location fair, it was pretty clean. It was not, despite the 4 star request, a 4 star based on decor of the lobby and rooms. The staff was not helpful and not particularly friendly. My key card failed twice and they acted as if it was a bother to them to fix it. I would stay there again for the price but would bring my own hairdryer as theirs was not adequate in the least.”

“The single worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. It was comparable to a cheap $15 a night Motel. They should be embarrassed to own this god awful place. I really do not think it would pass health inspection if they went in there today. ”

“We certainly were not expecting luxury with a four star hotel, but we were expecting a minimum level of service and comfort (which we received at the first four star hotel we stayed at - the Copthorne Tara). First, although we selected a four star hotel, there was no air conditioning in the room. Adding insult to injury, the ceiling fan did not work. Though not as significant, there was no fridge (again in contrast to the Copthorne Tara). Moreover, the night sleep was not restful, as our room sat right on the busy Blooms bury Way. The only good thing we can say is that the concierge was pleasant Other staff were not: for instance, we requested an extra sheet for our bed. This request was flatly refused (in England, the beds come with only a bottom sheet and a comforter, no top sheet. At the Copthorne Tara, we requested, and received, a top sheet, but not at the Thistle). In sum, we would not stay here, nor recommend it to any of our friends.”

“The Thistle Bloomsbury has been modernized and is air conditioned. The bathroom is modern and everything was in good working order. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. There is a very nice dining room which serves complimentary breakfast, lunch, and evening dining. From this hotel you can walk to Covent Garden and The Dominion Theater on Tottenham Court Road. The Holborn tube station is nearby. We have stayed at the Thistle Bloomsbury two times, and we would choose them again.”

“The hotel is in a great location close to the tube line and walking distance to covent garden, soho, picadilly circus, etc. Lots of restaurants and bars, pubs in walking distance. The staff was very uninformed and gave us poor information various times. The hotel is old and needs some renovations. no cold water pressure in bathroom, hot water took a long time to get warm, and some mold in bathroom (shower area). ”

“I did not feel it was a 4 Star hotel. Old and dingy with a poor quality extremely overpriced breakfast. It was far from the tube but close to bus stops. It did not seem to provide any tourist information, even though it was only 2 blocks from the British Museum.”

“It must have been a beautiful hotel 30 years ago. But definitely not a 4 star hotel - I'm disappointed that it was ranked as such. The night clerk was rude and late at night no one in the hotel would answer the phone. There was not 24 hour room service as it stated on the room service menu.”

“This is a hotel for people looking for good value and location in location. Some twin mattress may be little bit too soft for American.”
