“The room was quiet and clean with appropriate amenities such as small refrigerator, and enough room for a small table and chairs. With more people having i phones and the like, a hotel of this type should offer free Wi-Fi at lease in the lobby or bar. Having to use computers that are L1 per 10 minutes is just a way of nickel and dime for the guests.”

“This is a hotel that is safe and clean. It is in a really great location. Near some decent restaurants and 3 in walk from the High Street Kensington tube station. The only drawback is the outdated furnishings, but this is minor. I would recommend this hotel, especially for the price.”

“The hotel forgot my wake up call! Never mind that they represented themselves as a 4 star (maybe 20 years ago it was), but now it is at best a 2 star, but any flea bitten motel even makes wake up calls! This one didn't and they didn't even apologize for it. The hallways smelled like turpentine and the bathroom in my room smelled like mold. They covered the bathroom walls with plastic panels to make it look new, but it was very plain to see and smell that it wasn't very fresh or clean!”

“The lobby and restaurants are nicely maintained, they forgot about the rooms. The bathroom had obviously been flooded, but rather than fix the problem they covered up the moldy walls with paneling - but I could very plainly still smell the mold in the room! One night we ran out of toilet paper and the staff didn't seem to think that it was a problem! How hard is it to see that the roll is running out and leave an extra roll in the bathroom? An investigation into why I ran out of toilet paper does not help the situation!”

“Hotel was very functional, restaurants and bar were fine for business meetings.”

“Good location in an upscale area. Lobby and common areas are attractive. The restaurants and bars are good. The convenience store in the lobby is handy. The cab stand at the end of the driveway is very useful. The theater tickets desk is another handy perk. The actual guest rooms need updating. The bathrooms are really out of date and somewhat moldy. The beds themselves are small i.e. a double or two singles per room. The mattresses are saggy and lumpy and the pillows are virtually flat. The common areas are 4*, the guest rooms are 2*.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“Hotel is in desperate need for a rehash. The old plumbing fixtures in the bathroom are scary. I haven't seen separate hot and cold taps in years. The sink was gurgling. When someone next door turned on their water, our tub started to spurt something black. We would never stay at this hotel again.”

“Good business hotel. Clean and friendly, but without atmosphere. Good area for local shopping and eating but a long way from tourist attractions.”

“This hotel is a good choice, was a convenient location, close to the Tube and shopping. The price was unheard of for an upscale London Hotel.”

“The hotel room does not look like that of a 4 star hotel. It was fine with me since I spent most time attending a conference. The location was nice, and the staff were very helpful.”

“The hotel was a good value for the price. The lobby and public areas are very upscale, but the rooms were not. The room and bathroom were quite small.”

Don from Toronto,Canada “The hotel does a lot of trade in bus tours and the like, it is not service oriented and almost everything is offered as an extra-fee service, from the exercise room and on.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“This hotel was in a great location, literally around the corner from a tube and bus stop. Nice part of town, very easy to walk around at night and feel safe. The staff was great, helpful with organizing everything that we needed. I'd certainly stay again.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“This hotel was a nice place to rest our heads. We had two twin beds that we pushed together. The maid service did a nice job cleaning the room.”

“This was a tourist hotel. Request a room facing the front which were quieter. The ones on the back side had train noise from the tube trains running above ground. The bathrooms had old fixtures that required you to use two spigots, a hot & a cold that must be mixed together in the sink for warm water. The tub was very tall and might be difficult to enter if you are older or have mobility issues. It was very difficult to plug in your own hairdryer from the US (with the large safety plugs)The outlets were too close to the floor and hard to access. The staff was very accommodating and quick to respond to requests.”

“Not much of a view outside but okay hotel if you don't stay in it much. Like a low budget Holiday Inn.”

“The room was dirty: extremely outdated, dirty carpet, extremely uncomfortable bed and pillows. They charge 10 pounds per 24 hours for the internet. Windows were so dirty that you could hardly see the trains as they passed by making constant noise. Other than location, I cannot say much good about the Tara.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Amenities at Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington, London
