  • Good public transport links to central and a variety of eating establishments close by.
  • Next to a busy main road but our room had views over Finsbury Park

“Good value hotel in a cheap part of London, so not a classy area.”

  • Cleanlines of room, bedding and bathroom. Space for one - we can be squashed up. Facilities -hot drink, plenty of water for shower.Breakfast- good value not mean.
  • Cooked breakfast could have been a little less but cooked better (my bacon was a crisp, toast on one side only).

“Bus guidance as well as underground aid would have been good. There is a local depot next to the underground but outside the hotel ,I noticed a 92 bus to Trafalgar Square on the day I left.
Car parking facilities were generous at Parkside and the staff were friendly and helpful.”

  • the view of the park
  • lack of elevator

“the lack of elevator meant that i had to carry my baby and the suitcase to my room which was on the second floor. there was no help offered by the staff. There should have been mention of this on booking as I did mention a child at the booking stage. The shower had to be run for aproximately 7 minutes before it got hot water. There was work being carried outside of my room door and the strong smell of paintwork invaded the room during the entire stay.”

  • Location, friendly staff, price and overall atmosphere. Everything was as expected. Breakfast was good.
  • The opening hours of the bar were maybe too tight.

“We stayed six nights from Wednesday to Tuesday. This is a relatively fair priced hotel and lives up to description and expectation.

A little knowledge of the neighbourhood would have been helpful.

Parkside is located on a busy street and knowing that there is nothing to complain about. We will come back some day.”

  • Served the purpose well. Was within a suitable travelling distance from Stansted Airport.
  • A late return to hotel after theatre/restaurant visit could be a problem for some. Taxi too expensive.

“Hotel is perhaps just a little too far from Central London for some people, but we are experienced travellers and were able to make full use of public transport for example:
1/ Getting to and from Stansted Airport
2/ Short walking distance (5-7 minutes)to Manorhouse Underground and bus stops. Finsbury Park is also within 10 - 12 minutes walking distance for Victoria and Piccadilly Lines.”

  • Large room with free safe, full housekeeping daily, huge free car park, excellent breakfast choices

“This was our third visit to the Parkside Hotel.
It is very easy to find for visitors driving from the North of England, being only 9 miles from the M1 Motorway, a big attraction being that it is outside the London Congestion Zone, has a HUGE free car park, and has a Bus Stop within 200 yards that seems to have most major destinations covered -in addition to the London Underground (Tube) /Rail Station that cover the rest within 500 yards!
We have always requested (and been given) a specific room choice (Smoking and overlooking the rear car park) the back of the hotel is quieter.
The staff are very friendly, the rooms we have occupied have been large, with the added attraction of having a free safe, plenty of tea/coffee (with requests for even more by greedy us being met with no problems!) and more than enough soaps/shampoos/toothpastes(!);towels etc, which were replaced daily.
The breakfast (which is included in the room rate) is a combination of served and self service. The served choices are many, with requests for variations being met without problems. Hot breakfasts were served hot! The self service choices are also plentiful - they definitely believe it is the most important meal of the day!
Being neither the most 'luxurious' or 'modern' hotel, the Parkside is, nevertheless, a very clean, friendly, excellent value for money 'Budget' Hotel - which I would unreservedly recommend - and fully intend to visit again.”

  • The room was clean well serviced and being at the rear of the building quiet.
  • Booked double room became twin, informed facilities were the same, in-room information requires updating.

“Convenient to underground system/Buses. Weekend ticket covered most of the travel costs. Breakfast very good. No evening/bar meals available at the establishment not conforming to information in room.”

  • Reception staff welcoming. Pleasant dining room.
  • Room was cold especially bathroom. Shower very basic - took a long time for the water to heat up.

“First impression of room was of being cold and basically furnished. Bathroom did not have any heating at all and the shower took a long time to heat up. Was glad that it was only a one night's stay.

Painting work was being carried out on staircase.

Very pleasant dining room.”

  • The location was ideal.
  • The bathing facility.

“I find the accommodation most suitable because of its location to local travelling facilities. I would have needed more information about what ensuite included (meaning whether tub or tub and shower facility).”

  • the room had 3beds in, it was clean & firendly & near to Highbury for the football

“Hotel was in a great location, walking distance to Highbury for the football and tube & bus links for central London. Stroud Green Road - which has a fantastic selection of restaurants from all over the world, was only a short walk away. The view from our room was great - looking right across Finsbury Park. Hotel itself was clean and friendly & great value for money - I would definitely use the hotel again.”
