“Although I was with a group of people, some of whom had one problem or another with this hotel, I was very pleased with it. However, it did appear that the 5th and 6th floors were the only rooms' setup like what is depicted on the hotel's web site. My co-workers on the 2nd thru 4th floors had rundown rooms with shabby furniture compared to mine on the 5th floor. My mini-bar did not work as all the items were very warm. Room service was quick with limited items available 24 hours/day. The bed was the best and the room had a very large L-shaped desk to work from (and still see the TV). No alarm clock, but the TV can be set to turn on and also had an alarm. Only real problem I had with the room was that the key card would fail to work once or twice every other day. A real bummer when you're loaded down with a couple of laptops and books and you get all the way to your room on the 5th floor just to have to return to the front desk to get the key reset. Internet service from the room was very pricey (approx A#85/week) but the hotel does have a very small business center with one computer for Internet access (thought that doesn't help if you need VPN). Also, my voicemail service never worked while I was there even though I asked to have it reset more than once. From a business point of view, that and the room internet service draw a negative. At A#140/night, I think they could do better on the Internet charge (The Starbucks down the street has free wireless). Parking it very tight but secure (and expensive). The free breakfast is one of the best I've encountered and the bar is very nice. The gym is probably the best I've ever seen in a hotel and the indoor pool/Jacuzzi are also top notch. It's a hike to the center of Leeds by foot, but no pub is too far to walk to. Access to/from the hotel is goofy to figure out but not too bad once you do. Plenty of good pubs, restaurants and shopping in the city center. But again the walk, especially when caught out in a sudden rainstorm, is a bummer. Overall it is a very nice hotel, at least to me. The duty manager, reception staff, housekeeping personnel, and restaurant/bar wait staff were all very, very pleasant (even after putting up with us for 2 weeks). I would definitely stay here if I was just visiting the area and not working. Once bit of advice. If you book a group stay here and leave a day or two early, expect to have to pay for those nights as well.” Amenities at Crowne Plaza Leeds, Leeds
