“A bit more than the advertised 2 minutes walk from the station but nevertheless very close, well located for pub, clubs and restaurants but relatively quiet also. The hotel was clean and modern in an old building without the sterility of the ubiquitous c”

“A decent no frills hotel. Slightly further from the station than the web site indicated, but it is well located and I might well use again.”

“We travelled by train but found all directions were for motorway/driving. Directions by foot from train station would have been easier. We did phone the hotel and the receptionist gave us good directions.

“I was given the distinct impression on the telephone that the accommodation included breakfast. The additional cost of breakfast was rather high at ?u11.50 per person per day. I feel that, especially with the high additional cost, the non-inclusion of breakfast should be made a great deal clearer.”

“Generally a good hotel. Great location, perfect for a city stop-over. The reception/lifts/bar area etc were very nice, but the bedrooms could do with updating.”

“A good hotel in a central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Vastly reduced rate secured through Active Hotels than from any other site, or from hotel directly, for standard of room booked (executive twin). Have stayed at this hoteol threet times now, and this was the cheapest stay.”

“The staff are courteous and efficient. My check in was easy. They swipe your card first but you only pay after check out. My room was warm, clean, comfortable. The furniture was on the chatty side. I feel that they need to upgrade as the desk and bedside cabinet were showing signs of wear, things like chipped wood and markings from previous guests. The kettle was on the cheap side being plastic and showing signs of age and wear. As for supplying tea and coffee facilities I would advise the unseasoned traveller to bring their own as they do not provide much of a selection. To be fair, however, the Hotel does point out that if hotel guests run out of tea and coffee

“During our stay at the hotel we had no hot water what so ever so were unable to get a shower/bath, however we were given some of the money back which we had paid due to this. Also we were advised that it was bed and breakfast accomadation but on departure they tried to charge us '23 for 2 breakfasts, which I would not pay as they were suppost to be included in the room cost. Overall the presentation of the hotel was lovely, very clean, and well situated for visiting shops and bars.”
