Meikles Hotel is situated in the central business district of Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. This historical site overlooks Africa Unity Square and the magnificent jacaranda trees. The hotel was built in 1915 and is still owned by the same family. Originally, Meikles was a delightful colonial styled building with large verandahs and cupolas. The hotel has been rebuilt and altered on several occasions, and today consists of two distinct wings, the North Wing and the South Wing. These two accommodation wings are joined together on the ground and first floors by respective lobbies and a terraced garden. The hotel's restaurants, lounges, bars and banquet rooms are also incorporated on the ground, first and second floors. The pooldeck is situated on the top floor of the south wing. All the north facing suites and bedrooms have beautiful views over Africa Unity Square, the gardens and the city's flower market. Meikles is a luxury hotel with a timeless traditional feel, epitomized by a very special kind of African service.
