“We went to the meridian for a week in April; we all had a great holiday and can't wait to return lovely hotel, lovely food, and lovely location. All in all very pleased after reading reviews.”

“The hotel is a bit old and needs some serious renovation. Excellent area and beach. Problems: menu for all-inclusive guests changed only once in a week. Quite unfriendly staff.”

“This place is not up to acceptable standards for a 5* hotel. The food was terrible and many guests were ill. I had almost two days in bed with dreadful stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. Later I also got a sore throat and chest infection. Most people we spoke to also complained that a least one member of their party had been ill. Chicken was served up at every meal - with no other choice of meat. Similarly it was the same mixed vegetables for lunch and dinner. There was no service and you had to queue up, rather like school dinners, with your empty plate waiting to get something to eat. The accommodation was also very poor. There was no balcony or terrace, no safe and furniture was shabby. We were allocated a dame room which was so far away from the main hotel that they had to provide transport to ferry us to and fro. (This was dreadful when I was feeling so ill!) The drinks in the mini bar were rationed. Just one small bottle of coke, 7-up and fizzy orange every other day! The water (again only replenished every other day) had a broken seal on clearly refilled from an unknown source (possibly the cause of all the illness suffered). The hotel, with all its dunne room and lagoon rooms has simply outgrown the main facilities. Service suffered as a result. Bar staff ignored you, being more interested in washing glasses and restocking shelves. Tables were left dirty in the dining rooms. Staff were over worked (worked every day) and appeared to be frightened of losing their jobs. This hotel re-invents the meaning of ai. If you want a holiday where the food, service and accommodation are altogether inferior then this might be for you. I shall certainly never return! ”

“Couldn't fault the hotel. staff always did their best to help. animation team were a fantastic laugh. plenty of different things to do like fishing in the red sea or wind surfing. I'll be back at some point. totally safe for children.” 11 of 14 people found this review helpful.Amenities at Le Meridien Makadi Bay Resort, Hurghada
