“Excellent guest house. The owners and staff were very friendly. It was kept clean. The breakfast was very good with a good choice. The location is very good. It is about a 10 minute walk from the main train station so it is close enough to the places of interest and shopping. The room we stayed in was a bit on the small side but this didn't really matter as we were only there to sleep in. The bed was a small king size so if you are on the large or long side it might be a bit uncomfortable, but for us it was fine. I would definitely recommend staying here for a reasonably priced guest house.”

“We were only staying for 2 nights, but we were looked after and welcomed so well and in such a friendly manner, I would highly, highly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone visiting the area. In a good location from the main train station, its a great base for any visit. Breakfasts were lovely and the en suite bedroom was just what we wanted. I would without a doubt recommend this to anyone, and I look forward to returning in the future.”

“A friendly welcome given by staff who were willing to look after our luggage after an early arrival in Edinburgh. Excellent location providing easy access to Princes Street, and bus services if you didn't want to walk it's length to the castle - though this is worth doing! Small Hotel located in a quiet street although the area is rich with restaurants and pubs. It is a walk to the main sights up the far end of Princes Street, but we were blessed with the weather so it was easy to wander and explore on our way.”

“If you prefer a small, intimate, yet charming hotel in a quiet neighborhood, Broughton rules. The English breakfast included is hearty and a true bonus. Our room was spotless and the new bathroom was most welcome. Hail Hazel, excellent manager, efficient yet always with a smile.”

“WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF HOTELS HAVE A LIFT. AS A MATURE COUPLE WITH BACK PROBLEMS, WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO ACCESS THE ROOM PRIOR TO BOOKING. OTHERWISE, WE COULDN'T FAULT OUR STAY IN THIS HOTEL. IT IS MORE LIKE A BOUTIQUE HOTEL OR UPMARKET B&B. GREAT LOCATION, HANDY TO RESTAURANTS & SHOPS.”

“In general we were very pleased with our accommodation. The people were very friendly and hospitable. Check-in was fast & no problem. Breakfast was excellent and very good value. Our room was very clean and the en-suite shower although small was excellent. The only downside was our bed which very small & for 2 tall people it wasn't ideal. Also the mattress was very thin and not very comfortable although we still both managed to sleep OK.
The added attraction for us was that it had its own car park and was in reasonable walking distance to the centre of Edinburgh.”
