  • It was clean, with friendly staff and a central location.
  • Only one shower working, rooms smelt of smoke, squeaky beds.

“It would have been good to have been offered the choice of a smoking or non-smoking room. The kettle also didn't have long enough leads to reach the plug socket in one room, and in the other, the socket was behind a cabinet! I did feel very welcome though, and the staff were lovely and friendly during my stay. I feel it wasn't bad value for money considering the proximity to the city centre. Overall, I was happy with the hotel for what it is, and I would recommend it to a friend looking for reasonably priced accomodation in Edinburgh.”

  • my children(students)said the breakfast was brilliant
  • none

“i booked the hotel as a present for my children who wanted to visit the city. so it was a bit of a gamble wherever i booked, i chose you because the availability of a family room, meant they could stay together. i must say, they remarked, they where treated like adults.
for teenagers, this was a new. and exiting experiance.
please thank you staff for a great stay.. bob wilson.(a happy father).”

  • The cook did an excellent job with breakfast, there was a good variety of choice and everything was done to perfection.
  • Painting was in process in different parts of the hotel during our stay. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.

“The room was bright, clean, and spacious. I was expecting an ensuite room but there are none available, but as we were midweek guests there was no problem in accessing the facilities. It's a nice area of town, convenient to reach Princes Street and the Royal Mile but also offers some nice shops for browsing and variety of good restaurants more immediate.”
